What movie am I thinking of

I remember watching a movie (pretty sure it was a movie, it may have been a TV show or something along those lines) when I was around 10, this would have been 1989ish. Not to say the movie was from 1989 just that it was pre-1989.

I remember a farmer was doing mechanical work under a combine (it may have been a tractor, but I think it was a combine) and there was a bull that was giving everyone problems. So the farmer is working on the combine and his arm gets caught in the gears. The bull comes and the farmer starts throwing wrenches at the bull until the bull charges the combine and the force of the bull charge moves the gears and his arm is set free. That is all I remember from the movie but I remember that that was the movie that made me not want to be a farmer anymore.

I don’t really expect anyone to be able to guess what movie this is but if anyone does know let me know.

Androcles and the Tractor?

I knew several old farmers when I was growing up (friend’s fathers or grandfathers). Many of them had digits missing.

Oh, and as far as the movies goes, I don’t know, maybe the TV show The Waltons?

The Movie was “The River” and the farmer was Sissy Spaceck (sp?) wife to Mel Gibson. The event described happen while Sissy was left at home to tend the farm with her two boys and Mel went to get work in a factory to make enough money to save the farm.

This is the only part of the movie I’ve ever seen. How wierd is that?
