What Movie Have You Seen the Most Times and Why?

Raising Arizona at least 100 times. Easily. I’ve probably passed out 40 of those times, however.

Also seen Last of the Mohicans many, many times, but not nearly as many as Falc.

Hmmm, when I was 12 or 13, I spent every weekend at my best friend’s house. We watched Johnny Dangerously and The Breakfast Club at least once each weekend. I still love those movies.

I’ve also seen Caddyshack and Animal House numerous times because my ex-boyfriend loved them so much. I also still watch these movies often.

As far as dramas, I can never turn off The Color Purple. What a great movie!!! And I always cry when Celie and her sister play patty cake. OOOHHH!! What a great movie!!!

Real Genius.

I know the entire movie by heart. :o I have no idea why, it’s just an addiction, ok?

I got totally addicted to this when it first came out on video. Luckily, my parents owned a video store so I could watch it all the time. Now, it doesn’t grab me so much.

Other than that, movies I have no problem watching several times a year are “Crimes of the Heart,” “Heartburn,” “Clue,” this random movie “A Sinful Life” and the movie that I love especially much because nobody else does and I’ve watched so much that it’s become a part of me, “Vibes,” starring Cyndi Lauper as Sylvia Pickel.

“Ms. Pickel, you are amazing!”
“I’ve been told that before - but then they never call.”

As for the Color Purple, I watched that one time and it was such a wonderful experience at first I didn’t want to watch it again because how could it ever be that good again? But after a couple years I broke down and saw it - of course it was still great, and now I have the soundtrack, too, which is faboo. Personally, it’s when that guy says “Mama” at the end that gets me crying - I’m misting up just thinking about it…

I need a tissue.

'Nuff sed.

Davis - Remember “Andy” from Pee Wee’s Big Adventure? Maybe one day I will tell you the real life story of Diane’s Big Adventure with the Big Guy Who Played Andy.

For me:

(A small part of my video collection)

Pulp Fiction. That movie is packed full of great lines!
The Long Kiss Goodnight.
Jackie Brown (Anyone see a Samuel L. Jackson thing going on here?)
Edward Scissor Hands (It makes me cry)
Clerks
Chasing Amy
and of course, Mallrats
Stand By Me
Natural Born Killers (I see something I never noticed before every time I watch it.)
Wizard of Oz
The Sand Lot (My youngest son watches that thing over and over. It was filmed here in Utah and my son goes swimming at the pool featured in the movie. He thinks that’s pretty cool. This movie is funny as hell.)

However, my all time watch over and over movie would have to be The Sounds of Music, really! I love that movie!

I’ve seen Army of Darkness more times than is probably healthy, and I’ve “wasted” a good deal of my life on many viewings of Hudson Hawk (Hawk is a masterpiece of late 20th century cinema, but that’s a topic for another thread! :))

When I was in junior high, my goal in life was to be one of those people who watches The Rocky Horror Picture Show multiple hundreds of times. I think I made it to about 40 before I got bored and gave up.

No contest… Wayne’s World
I saw it 7 times in the theatres
I bought it on video the day it came out and watched it so many times that my video wore out and I had to buy a new one.

Currently, however, I’m going on a Wayne’s World hiatus until it comes out on DVD. Those bastards!

Why Wayne’s World? It’s a hysterically funny movie, it stands up well to repeated watching because there are subtle things, like faces Dana Carvey makes in the background, that you don’t see the first time, it’s quite intelligent, and, if nothing else, it just grabbed me…

(second place? Star Wars)

Forgot a few. I sound like a video junkie.

Ghost (Boo hooooo)
Spinal Tap (Shit Sandwich)
All the vacation movies (Vacation, Eurpean Vacation, Christmas Vacation)
Frankenhooker (funny as hell!)

I concur. I’ve probably seen it 300 or 400 times. In fact, I think I’ll go put it in now…

Yep , Star Wars / Empire / Jedi by a mile (If I look at one I usually look at all 3 )

With houourable mention to The Thing ( J.Carpenter ) version , my fav. movie *Once Upon a Time in America * the full lenght version and Casablanca .

I’ve seen Clue about 20 times. Grease was a daily habit back in my babysitting days; I probably saw that one over 100 times. Ditto for Labyrinth. Princess Bride: maybe 20. Real Genius: over 30. Little Shop of Horrors: probably 30. The Hunger: around 30.

Rocky Horror Picture Show: over 250. I stopped counting.

I’m feeling much better now. But I can still quote the entirety of all of the above.

yojimbo,

Man, “The Thing” that is another movie I have seen many many times but it is still entertaining each time.

Definitely The Princess Bride. It is the movie-to-watch-when-you’re-sick for our family. Also the movie-to-watch-on-a-rainy-day-and-you’re-tired-of-cards. When we travel now, we bring hubby’s laptop and TPB on dvd so the kids can be amused if necessary.

The Life Of Brian

Chances are no matter how many times you watch it youll always spot something youve never noticed before.
Blessed are the cheesemakers

My most-watched movie:
GoodFellas: I just love that flick, I don’t know why. And it always makes me hungry for Italian food…

Runners-up:
When Harry Met Sally
Silence of the Lambs
Clerks
The Holy Grail
FarTrekker: why didn’t you just tape The Last Action Hero (shudder) the first time you paid for it through Pay Per View and then just watch it repeatedly off the tape? No VCR? Pneumonia-addled brain?

To be fair, that movie had one hilarious line:

Arnold: “To be, or not to be?” (castle blows up) “Not to be.”

How the hell could have I forgotten about The Life of Brian and also This is Spinal Tap two movies that I can almost quote word for word .

I’ve got a ton that I keep watching, but “It’s a Wonderful Life” gets seen at least once a year and often about 5-6 times on Christmas. For some reason, I try to watch every showing that I can on that day.

I’ve pretty much watched everything else that everybody else has mentioned about 20-30 times as well.

yojimbo

Grease and Guys and Dolls would have to be my two most watched movies.

I was so excited when Guys and Dolls was released on DVD earlier this year. Now can I just skip to all my favorite parts!
