Where? OG WHERE? Is Incredibles 2?
Besides BBvWCL, I’d love to see the Coppola production of Anthony Hopkins in THE VAN HELSING CHRONICLES.
Lost in Space.
I don’t think I’d seriously like to see this, but I always thought Ferris Bueller’s Class Reunion would be a good title for a movie. Election is close, but it just doesn’t feel the same.
As for something I’d really like to see, more Serenity, STAT.

Serenity

I want them to finish the Chronicles of Riddick.
The Passion of the Christ, Part II: The Revenge of the Christ
I never looked at it that way… well, I guess the sequel(s) for Better Off Dead HAS been done!
But I do so enjoy Cusak!
How about Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles, and Weird Science sequels? (Cant help it - highschool reunion is in a couple of months and I’m having 80’s flashbacks)
I could also go for another Lost in Space and Riddick
Oh! Oh! I know! The Professional - All Grown Up !!
I always thought we might be lucky enough to see a Ferris Bueller sequel where he skips out of work for a day.
The world needs a Ghostbusters III. And I think we might see one, depending on the success of the much-hyped game. The two things which have prevented a third movie are that the second one sucked and that Bill Murray doesn’t want to lug around that heavy equipment. If not a third movie, possibly a remake just so they can bleed the franchise.
I really can’t see Murray, Ackroyd, Ramis, and Hudson reuniting for Ghostbusters III, no matter what. I’m sure Hudson would jump at the opportunity, but Murray has “serious actor” cred now and is known for being difficult to work with (he’s the reason we haven’t gotten movie-accurate action figures), Ramis works steadily directing comedies and acting in bit parts, and they’ve both aged A LOT.
I’ve thought about recasting Ghostbusters for a remake, as sacreligious as that sounds. It’s one of my all-time favorite movies, but the world is better off with more 'Busters than without.
For Peter Venkman, you need a likeable everyman who is also a wiseass. To replace Bill Murray, I’d consider either Paul Rudd or Vince Vaughn.
For Ray Stantz, you’d need someone chunky and enthusiastic. Jack Black has been able to play serious roles in the past, or I’m sure Seth Rogen could rise to the occasion.
For Egon Spengler, you need someone who can portray slightly socially awkward intelligence, and also be a good straight man for the others. I can think of none better than Jason Bateman, or as an odder pick, Will Ferrell (who people forget was amazing at playing a deadpan straight man as Alex Trebek, James Lipton, and so many other SNL characters).
For Winston Zeddmore, ideally you’d get an actor of color, another everyman type to join the team later and serve as the audience’s point of view. Will Smith essentially played this same role in Men in Black, but I’d love to see Taye Diggs or J. August Richards working more.
Or maybe Steve Carell for Ray and Romany Malco for Winston… and of course bring in Judd Apatow to produce it!
Goonies!
(Shame it’s so old because I sure would love to see Kerri Green in it)
edit:
And…
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
Ferris Bueler’s day off
I apologize that these don’t fit the OP but I both The Sopranos and The Wire would make exellent movier material. The Sopranos because the series finished in an open-ended way and it would be nice to see whether Tony came out on top, adjused to being the New Jesey step-children or changed/walked away. The Wire because it already lends itself to time-taking in plot and character development and, again, with the way the series ended, there was a lot that could be resolved and/or expanded on in a movie.
I have $200 I’d willingly invest.
Actually, they are working on a Ghostbusters video game (for PC and next gen consoles), and from what I have read, including an interview with Ramis, they are treating the game as if it will be GB3.
Still there’s a big difference between doing voice work for a video game and shooting a movie.
this is genius sir. I think J. August Richards would be a great Winston.
Add my vote for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. It’s one of my all time favorite movies, and I would love to see more of Gay Perry and Harry working together. It’d be freaking hilarious, and Kilmer and Downy had such great chemistry together.
Harry: So are you still gay?
Gay Perry: No, I just like the name. I’m neck-deep in pussy.
One more vote as well. Such a terrific movie, and it pissed me off how little marketing and support it got from the studio, and how few people saw it. I’ve been a Shane Black fan ever since the first Lethal Weapon, Downey is one of my favorite actors ever, and Kilmer was the best I had seen him in years. Loved it!
Ferris Bueller has lots of potential. There are those mentioned above, or he could now be the father of a teenager just like him who’s driving him absolutely nuts, OR the father of a teenager who’s perfect and won’t rebel and that’s driving him crazy.
While Hepburn was alive and before Poitier was so old I always wanted to see a sequel to Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner in which the son of that marriage (Wilson J. Heredia perhaps) brings home his boyfriend (Gene Hackman or BobCat Goldthwaite perhaps) and his liberal parents have to adjust to their own unconfronted prejudices.
There was a print sequel to Rosemary’s Baby that flopped, but in part because- and I honestly think this was completely coincidental- it had the same final plot twist as Devil’s Advocate in that at the end the Devil returned all things to the beginning, where Guy and Rosemary were moving into the Dakota [or whatever they called it] and no baby was conceived
I don’t think it would have worked anyway, though.
Coppola has always said that if there’s a Godfather IV it will focus on the family’s complete devolution into crack dealing and completely unglamorous thug activity- no longer any pretense at honor.
or he could be the father of a teen age girl who’s dating a young Ferris-like man.
Or he could be on a mission to stop his arch-nemesis Cameron, who has in the years since Day Off become a megalomaniacal super-villain.
Well, Election showed Matthew Broderick’s character enduring the same kind of indignities that Ferris put Principal Rooney through. I’d call that a sequel of sorts.
