In the wiki it claims this is an ongoing strip. What papers carry it these days?
It’s clearly ongoing – King Features is still syndicating it (the last strip online is from January, but that’s how all their strips are – they don’t put current strips online).
Not Mandrake, but my hometown newspaper, the Plattsburgh Press-Republican, still carries the Phantom.
They do now- they have a really cool comic portal called Comics Kingdom.
Yikes. Was that really drawn this year? It looks like it’s 60 years old.
You can tell the artist is really hip to the wonders of newfangled technology though - he’s using badly placed, badly spaced, computer generated lettering instead of lettering by hand. And what font could be more perfect for a comic strip than Comic Sans? gag
Hey, maybe he’s reusing decades-old artwork and changing the plots by writing new captions.
That sounds insane, but I don’t see any other explanation. You’d have to work at it with Photoshop filters to make a modern comic panel look that bad. Has he acknowledged doing this?
