What, no April minirants?

As a relatively new member, the link to an old thread can be useful. The rolleyes can cock off though.

True, they are paid a hefty allowance from the British government (last year it was £38.2 million). On the other hand, all the revenue from every Crown property is paid directly into the British Treasury. In the last 10 years, that’s amounted to nearly £2 billion, so I’d say the British government actually comes out ahead. Plus, both she and Philip now pay income tax, although I gather that was under some duress.

My feelings too. Although I’m anti-royal in general, I have to say these two guys have impressed me. William alone seems to be single-handedly raising the image of the royal family the same way John Glenn did that of the other drunken-lout astronauts of the day. And Harry insisting on serving on the line was admirable.

It’s May, and there’s a May minirant thread, so I’m closing this thread.
