Sorry, **flytrap **- the books are going to the hospital thrift shop.
Death chikken is in the oven. First time I’ve made it. It better be good (but I didn’t add nutmeg cuz I didn’t have it. I used tarragon which I like with chikken, plus added a dollop of sherry. )
Yesterday was above 32 and snow melted but of course it froze during the night so the parking lot at the barn is a sheet of ice. Horses went out but will probably come in early since it is f. raining (that would be freezing rain). The high tomorrow is predicted to be 9. Fahrenheit.
I had some early lunch and found out I’m going to get three meals out of last nights leftovers.
I took a nap and ate the rest of what I had planned to at earlier.
It’s still wet outside.
Sah-sog is driving Sah-son crazy by asking to go out then refusing to go out. If he were younger we’d drag him out but since he’s a old man now we are a little more gentle with him.
The rain has stopped and the sun is out, sorta. The car looks rinsed, so that’s good. And I’m quitting for today - all but sorting the yarn is done, and I think I deserve a break now.
And brownies. I have brownie mix…
Decided to do summat useful, and rack the boozery (for thems wondering what that means, as it ferments, dead yeast cells and other unwanted stuff starts building up in a layer at the bottom of the container, and racking it means c…a…r…e…fully siphoning the booze off the top without disturbing the gunk).
I tried a tiny bit, and the plum tastes loads better than a few months back- I reckon it’s ready to bottle, unless it suddenly decides to start fermentin’ again; the cider is a bit rough, but probably just needs a bit of ageing, which can happen in bottles, and I just have this year’s blackberry to rack (which shouldn’t be anywhere near ready). I got given a new wine recipe book for Christmas, so it’ll be nice to have empty demijohns to fill.
I only tried tiny bits, so this is not a drnuk post.
Nappage has occured. That’s been the big project this afternoon.
Dishwasher is loaded and brownies are in the oven. The sun is shining and Higgs is driving me crazy!!
Just another day in paradise…
I got to go home from irk an hour early. I am in my robe with no plans to change into anything else today.
Just so y’all know, I have decided to be somewhat productive. I have been ahrnin’ shirts. I am now takin’ a break. I’m watchin’ The Cosby Show on teevee. Vanessa and a group of her hoodlum friends have gone to Baltimore for a concert. Ok, I’ve seen this many times so I know how it plays out, but I still think Claire and Cliff should have sent her off to Convent Skool. I think maybe this is why I would not have been a success as a sitcom writer.
The rain has cleared out, but it’s still overcast and dreary and windy. I just brought the car in the garage and emptied the trunk - I’d forgotten a few things when I unpacked the other day.
My sis will be giving me an order for mitts - one of her customers has coworkers who want some. So yay! Guess I need to get my yarn sorted so I know where all the different colors are.
Almost time to feed the dog, and me. Thus endeth my week off.
Brownies are cooled and sliced. Should I have them before supper, after, or instead of??
Yes.
I officially have a head cold. I’m listening to Annie Lennox and cutting up the BRIGHT NEON YELLOW shirt. I may not need to turn on the lights to do this. It is quite bright.
Is this a trick question?
They have flour and sugar for carbs, eggs (and nuts?) for protein, add a cherry on top and you got your fruit and veggie requirement.
I find your ideas intriguing and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
I’ve had cupcakes instead of supper.
I just overdosed on chocolate.
I have eight overripe bananas.
I see banana bread in my future.
Having never made, nor had, banana bread before, would you say my future looks bright?
Well, if you don’t know what it’s s’posed to taste like, at least you won’t know if you did it wrong
I’m slightly cheesed off at the moment- after telling me repeatedly for the last month to keep New Year’s Eve free, my boss has just texted me to see if I’m available on New Year’s Day morning… Either he’s expecting me to work on no sleep at all, or I’m actually not going to be working the night before, as I thought. He’s not replied to me trying to check which it is either. I don’t really want to work late on NYE, but it’s double time, and I could use the money, and it’d be really useful to know if I can go to my friend’s party or not.
I’m going to start signing up for temping agencies at the start of January, this job is getting silly. I might see if I can stay on the back-up list for occasional weekend work, if I do get some office temp stuff, 'cos the actual work often isn’t bad for the pay, it’s just the stress of not knowing if I’m going to have enough work this week or not. I know temping isn’t any better for that, but I think that’s my best option to get some ‘recent office experience’ to hopefully work my way up to a better job.
Robbio check out the Mumper Recipes blog. Click on the link for breads. You’ll find recipes for ‘nanner muffins and nanner bread. Just one of the many benefits of bein’ a mumper.
Also, next person to post starts us off tomorrow!
Can you buy Jiffy Baking Mix in Merrye Olde England? The box has a very easy and yummy banana bread recipe. If not, this page has 2 recipes you might want to try.
It’s dark out. I’m knitting a cap with the remnants of 2 skeins of yarn. I just fed the fish. Higgs doesn’t want to go out.
Oh, and the brownies were yummy. I’ll be wrapping up the rest for my lunches this week. Yes, there are some left - I didn’t eat the entire pan!
Sorry - can’t start us off - I don’t have access to the Dope at work. And I don’t have time in the morning to fire up this machine and post before I leave. So
