i Pity Da Fool That Forgets That Mister T. Deserves A Power Ring! I Pity Da Fool! Fools Like Murdoch!
Kambei Shimada from The Seven Samurai.
What about Han Solo? He’d have his own little green Falcon. Or just give a ring to a Wookie.
Or Ripley from the Aliens movies. The GL has already dealt with them, so why not just get the expert?
Yes, but he’d have one wee disadvantage…
“Whaddaya mean, it’s yellow?!?”
Me, I’d go for Samuel L. Jackson. (I know, not fictitious. How about a composite of his best characters?)
G’Kar?
I could see an argument for any of three from SG-1 - Samantha Carter, Teal’c, or Daniel Jackson. Anybody but Jack O’Neill…
I don’t think that G’Kar would want to be an agent of interference by the First Ones (I think the Oans would count, in this category). I mean, remember that whole war thing to get rid of the last of the First Ones?
And Han Solo would be a lousy choice (too concerned with his own skin), but Chewbacca would be good. As, come to think of it, would most Jedis (the Jedi order being just yet another iteration of the same archetype as the GL Corps).
With the Jedi, I think it depends on when they’re offered it. Before his training, for instance, I doubt Luke would impress Abin Sur or anybody else who wasn’t force-sensitive.
But Mace Windu, as seen in Episode 3, with a ring = VERY short-lived empire.
Carrot. Clear-thinking, strong-willed, honest to a fault, absurdly brave, has always refused to claim his kingship or let anyone else claim it on his behalf because he knows it is not the best thing for Ankh-Morpork. Has said “Personal isn’t the same as important” and lives accordingly, and wasn’t tempted even momentarily by the gonne in Men At Arms that even had the power to corrupt Vimes.
Now there’s a crossover just begging to be written!
For some reason, I can imagine Carrot being offered the ring, but I can’t imagine him taking (or even using) it.
I dunno about that. He has a really nice sword that comes out of the scabbard upon occasion.
He would certainly use the ring sparingly.
Nobody’s said Dumbledore?
Or in the real-world…Saladin?
Dr. Samuel Beckett.
Mr T or B.A.?
Like it matters. Mister Miyagi is the '80s Green Lantern from heck.
