I think I’m at the end of season 2. Clark has been sucked into the cave’s fissure. Lex has apparently drunk something poisonous. At any rate, he passed out, crashing onto a glass table. Lionel’s hair has been shaved off. Martha has run slow-mo to the field to see a burning Krypton signal. And Jonathan is lying apparently dead on the floor of the cave. Chloe has been blown to smithereens in one of those fireball explosions of a house she just entered. Oh, and did I mention that Lana has gone off to Paris?
Surely, that is a season ender if ever there was one. So, today will be, I guess, the start of season 3.
Okay, here’s what pisses me off. Two things. One, CLARK SHOULD HAVE TOLD LANA ABOUT HIS FUCKING POWERS. Lana. Not Pete. The hell with Pete. Lana is the one he’s been leaving in the lurch EVERY SINGLE FRIGGING TIME HE PROMISES TO MEET HER SOMEWHERE. She is the one he is in love with. She is the one who stands to be his lifemate. Plus, she’s so fucking beautiful it’s ridiculous.
Which leads me to complaint the second. It has gotten to the point that a plot element is telegraphed each and every time Clark says something like, “I’ll be there at eight o’clock.” No. He won’t. In fact, you can rest assured that he specifically WILL NOT be there at eight o’clock. Something will distract him, and he will end up having to stare at Lana speechless while she begs him for the thousandth time to trust her and tell her what his deal is.
Sorry for the rant. Maybe this should have been in the Pit. But damn. Just plain damn.
Enjoy while you can. You are at a high point. season 4, and to a lesser extent season 6 are pretty bad, but I can’t stop watching because it used to be good. The frustration you feel at Clark’s life choices is just going to increase though. Have fun!
Yeah, get used to that frustration. Part of the problem is that the show is constrained by the overall existing Superman mythos. They’ve been able to play around with it, but I don’t think you’re going to see any huge departures. So sometimes (well, over and over) Clark or another character makes a stupid decision purely as a plot device, in order to avoid moving out of those limits.
It’s true that the show is starting to drag, but I’ve gone this far so I have no choice but to finish the series. The show is constrained not just by Superman canon, but by publishing rights as well. The Green Arrow is not a reasonable replacement for Batman! I just wish Kara would take off her clothes allready so that the show can finally end.
I don’t know…what season are we in now? I sort of like the things they’ve done in this season, and some of the stuff from last season.

I like that Lana finally found out. Both the way she found out last season and thought he was just meteor infected, and this season where she knows his whole story.
I also like the changes in Lex. The big move to the dark side…I still think that character is the best on the show and is being done extreamly well.
