What pizza topping is weirdest?

Dis-used Weber Carburetor Jets. But none of those stinkin’ ones from Estonia or wherever, Only the Real ones!

actually, there were several American places on Diners/Dives that did this (needless to say Guy did NOT eat the eggs)

I was under the impression that ‘pizza döner’ (or as they are called in Dutch döner places, ‘Turkish pizza’), is actually not a kind of pizza but a distinct dish, Lahmacun. It is indeed similar to pizza but not intended as a variation. But maybe your pizza döner is not Lahmacun.

If their cafe had been in Altoona, PA, they might’ve made millions.

Many (most?) döner places in Germany have both. Lahmacun is on the menu almost everywhere, but there’s also often a variety of Italian style pizza including pizza döner.

this is very common in India

pizza with runny eggs are very common in western Switzerland, and are delicious. I have seen them in Italy as well. Not unusual at all.

For the longest time, my favorite pizza had a red sauce base with gorgonzola cheese, parma ham, and a cracked egg. Sublime.

I can’t stand cauliflower. It looks like broccoli after it received radiation treatment for cancer.

FISH pizza?
{SHAKES HEAD SADLY}

Yeah; tuna and/or anchovies are my favourite toppings.

But it’s quite distinct from a lahmacun, right? I’m imagining literally doner ingredients like meat shaved off a spit and sauces on pizza dough (does it have cheese?) as opposed to ground meat and stuff on a lahmacun. Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen gyros pizza around here.

Yeah, there was corn on the pizza in the UK as well. We were mystified by that. It wasn’t bad though, just unusual to us Americans.

(during my study abroad, we got a hankering for some US food after about a month, so we hit up the local Oxford Pizza Hut buffet. Best part was US-style fountain drinks with all the ice we wanted!)

One of the very best pizzas I ever had was on vacation in Italy. It was a tuna and onion pizza at a little tavern-type place just off Via del Corso a couple of streets north of Via dei Condotti (a big high-end shopping street). It wasn’t fancy at all, but it worked. The best way I could describe it is if you’d topped the pizza with a whole lot of very mild anchovies along with some onions.

I did have a Crab Rangoon pizza (flatbread, actually, IIRC) in Lexington a number of years ago. It was pretty good. It didn’t have duck sauce on the side, though.

Agree. You can’t even pick off anchovies because they taint the entire pie.

When we order pizzas at work, I always get a pie with 1/2 anchovies. Nobody touches that pie, so I get it all for myself.

When my husband orders them he gets that pizza all to himself, too!

Exactly, an Italian style pizza with tomato sauce and cheese (mozarella), topped with meat from the spit, lettuce, raw red cabbage, onions, tomatoes and a few sauces on top to choose from, cacik, hot sauce and/or cocktail sauce. It’s practically a pizza margherita topped with all the döner stuff after baking. As for lahmacun, I think it’s mostly topped with ground meat, but you can also get it with döner meat from the spit. It’s mostly served rolled up, not flat as a pizza. And it got no cheese, but also tomato sauce.

LOL! This is especially relevant to me because I got a clean bill of health from my oncologist yesterday.

And I love cauliflower, AS CAULIFLOWER. I really like it roasted with garlic and olive oil. However, it was never meant IMNSHO to be made into bread, snack chips, pizza crust, etc.

Congratulations!! :heartbeat:

One of my buds loves it, too. I don’t know, I’m thinking that I just can’t deal with a white vegetable. If it isn’t green, there has to be something wrong with it! LOL
I’m perfectly happy, however, eating mushrooms that are not only white but a fungus. Go figure!

Lots of people around the world like fish. As a fish-lover I find it hard to understand the typical American dislike or fear of fish.

Here’s a couple of Italian and Italian-American fish-loving dishes; puttanesca features anchovies.
