What positions have never been advocated on the SDMB?

The position in the limerick that starts, “There was a young woman from Norway” has been mentioned on this board, but never advocated on the SDMB.

I know a pathologist who doesn’t believe in evolution. But he’s never posted on the Dope.

Has anyone ever started a serious thread on the Dope against evolution?

(By the way, I am in the pro-evolution camp.)

I’m not a Reconstructionist (mainly because I think Calvinism is a horrible deformation of Christianity), but I agree with a lot of what they say. I think FriarTed has had some good things to say about them as well. I also support the establishment of the Orthodox Church, but not any other religion.

Many have, mainly as a prelude to witnessing. All have been defeated.

No, but I certainly remember there was a poster who insisted Osama bin Laden was HOT.

Well, you know, purely on a physical level, he kinda is.

It’s “human branching” and that was one person. You can learn more about human branching at his website, www.humanbranching.com.
Oh, looks like you can’t, anymore. Guess that memetic branch got pruned.

[shrug] Start a GD thread.

I doubt very much that many of them would consider the result as them being defeated. Another way of expressing what I think you’re getting at is that many have indeed espoused anti-evolution beliefs, but well informed Dopers, both of faith and non religious, have presented a more rational and well thought out display of the reasons for their own beliefs. Because a truly fervant fundie can always pull out the “God did it!” trump card, thus winning (in their humble opinion).

Has anyone advocated Paris Hilton playing Mother Teresa?

And I must remark, he has been photographed in some snazzy outfits. He even makes “afghan peasant outfit” look kinda’ dapper.
Still, I’d pay good money to be allowed to torture him to death. Slowly. Not that I wouldn’t be outbid…

Did they send you the Flat Earth News? Did it contain the words “Science-religion”? I love those loons.

“Ignorance is the Roxxor!!!1111”

Poor Brother Finn was never going to survive on the Dope, but he does surface from time to time elsewhere on the intarwebb, and I get the occasional email from him, and those always brighten my day. The more I get to know him, the less I am sure where to draw the line as to how much of his colourful style is a put-on, and how much is genuine. In any event, he’s actually quite a smart cookie. Great bloke to argue with - the angrier he gets, the more coherent he gets. I like him.

I don’t recall ever seeing anyone advocating anarchy here.

Any relation to Johnny Fever?

I guess it’s because we’re just another council tenancy.

I don’t think we’ve ever had anyone advocate the strictest form of anti-medical religious belief. That is, advocating a flavor of Christian Science or similar that would completely abjure all medical intervention regardless of the symptoms or cause in favor of prayer and meditation.

It’s my ideal form of government. So chalk me up.

Lots of GD posters are so Libertarian their ideas are indistinguishable from anarchism.

The Catholic Church has always been an independent power. But the Orthodox Church, where it has been an established church (the Byzantine Empire, Tsarist Russia), has always been an arm of the state. Under “Caesaropapism” the emperor or tsar had the power to appoint and dismiss patriarchs and bishops. So if Orthodox Christianity became the established church of the U.S. (or any other country) – would you want the president (or whoever) to have that power?

Now that you bring it up, I would. As much as I dislike Paris Hilton, that could be interesting in a trainwreck kind of way.
