What show? Man killed by icicle in freezer

I’m trying to remember what show had a man who died in a restaurant walk-in freezer, stabbed in the head, but no murder weapon was found. Turns out there were icicles in the freezer, the man had apparently stuck his head in there and raised up, impaling himself, then the icicle melted.

I’m thinking NCIS or “Life” but can’t find it in the episode guides.

I’m no help to you, but I wanted to add that this had been done on Quincy, also. But, instead of an icicle, it was a bullet made of ice, IIRC.

Was it the Spike show, 1000 Ways to Die?

Die Hard 2?

UT

No, it was a detective show with a “murder of the week”, probably within the last 5 years.

CSI did a “frozen hamburger bullet” episode, I recall.

It wasn’t a bullet though, it was an icicle in a freezer. The person raised up and accidentally drove it through their skull, so it wasn’t a murder.

It was Castle. The guy was a famous chef or something.

In Castle the guy froze to death.

I thought you had it, I did see a couple episodes of Castle.

But it was Life. Bad title, great show. Am rewatching the series now on DVD and was waiting for this episode.

Shit I could have sworn it was Castle. But I did watch every episode of Life as well. Shit. My apologies.

It was Life. It was a sub-plot of the episode, so it doesn’t show up on the writeup. As I saw the episode, I’m 99.9% sure it wasn’t Castle, as I’ve never seen an episode of Castle (or it could have been Castle copying Life).

If I can find it before my fantasy draft, I’ll let you know the specific episode.

That’s the episode.

Clearly not what you’re thinking about , but it was used in the mystery, “The Tea Leaf” by Edgar Jepson and Robert Eustace from 1925.

Balls. For once I knew the exact answer and was beaten to it.

Would an icicle really be sharp enough to impale you if you accidentally bumped your head against it?

If I remember correctly, Hawaii 5-0, the old one, used an ice bullet once.

I also seem to remember that Columbo solved a case with involving an ice weapon, but I can’t remember the details.

No, I think this could only happen if somebody’s head was made from styrofoam.

are you sure it was a man, and not a velociraptor?

Are you sure it was an icicle and not a treadmill?
