What song are you listening to now?

If you’re listening to music at all, that is.

For me: Rammstien- “Es ist nicht leicht, ein Gott zu sein”

I’ve just spent three hours declicking and denoising one remix on the 12’’ single of “I Want To Make The World Turn Around” by The Steve Miller Band, so I can save it on a CD without noises. One mix down, two more to go.

It’s not much of a song, so now I am going to have to go back to playing “Constant Craving” by kd lang, which I had on earlier.

I just spent the last two hours building a drum set in Gigasampler using old drum machine sounds and my trusty Moog synth.

Now my head hurts so no music.

Right now, I’m listening to In Our Lives by John Mellencamp.

I’m wearing dark sunglasses and listening to The Jesus & Mary Chain, right now I’m in the middle of ‘The Hardest Walk.’

“All My Shootings be Drive-Bys” by MC Hawking.

“Rodeo Clowns”, G Love and Special Sauce. The boys in my class kept practicing and practicing this song to perform it at a schoolwide concert, and I started liking it (after I got over the throw-rotten-vegetables phase).

U2 - Beautiful Day

Ironically, it has been quite a lousy day actually…

Lisa Marie Presley - Lights Out

I am hostage to my little clock radio on my desk at work. That song is growing on me, though.

Eels, “Last Stop: This Town”. It’s from the 1996 album, “Electro-shock Blues”, which was written by E (Mark Everett) after his sister killed herself and his mother was diagnosed with inoperable cancer.

Despite the mordant theme of this record, it’s a truly beautiful piece of work. The music runs from darkly funny to depressing to uplifting and hopeful. I like it a lot.

“Graceland” by Paul Simon

Right now I’m listening to 3 by Porcupine Tree. In Absentia is a fantastic album.

“I’m so Happy I Can’t Stop Crying” by Sting

Ella Fitzgerald. Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered.

“I Can Only Imagine” I don’t know the singer. It is a Christian song about I can only imagine what it will be like to forever worship you (Jesus)

“When You Love Someboday” - the Fruitbats

oh, brother. Somebody, not someboday. WTF is that?!

Space cowboy, by Jamiroquoi

Goodbye Blue Sky - by Luther Wright and the Wrongs.

This is a bluegrass rerecording of the entire Pink Floyd album The Wall called “Rebuild the Wall”
