what are you listening to

Amy Winehouse Back to Black and Timberland Shock value!

Do you mean, right now, at this very moment? Or at this point in life?

At this very moment, John Prine: Fair and Square.

Also at this very moment, net downloads, specifically “Uncertain Smile” by the The. Now I’m listening to “When You Say Nothing At All” by Alison Krauss. (I have diverse tastes in music).

a Stiff Little Fingers mix cd.

“Beautiful Day” by U2… Cause it is.

My heavy rotation albums right now:

Say Anything: … is A Real Boy. (A return to old-school college snotty-rock, a la The Descendants.)
MCR: 3 Cheers for Sweet Revenge.
Anything by Sloan.

Rolling Stones
Prodigy
Tricky
Tool
John Butler Trio

Right this minute…Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds.

At this very moment? “Suddenly I See” by K.T. Tunstall.

Right when I read the thread title, AC/DC’s Gone Shootin’ was just fading out. Now iTunes has shuffled to Breathing by Lifehouse.

Hot Tuna – Mann’s Fate

Right this moment, “Syoma” by Halo Manash.

“Dat’s my Part” by DJ Shadow.

Divinities: Twelve Dances with God - it’s either Ian Anderson or Jethro Tull, essentially one and the same but this might be one of his “solo” albums (well, he needs a guitarist and Martin Barre is available. Need a drummer of course, and since Doane is coming in to talk about the next Tull disk, might as well see if he’s doing anything, and hell - Andrew Giddings would be offended if he wasn’t offered keyboards…)

Actually, I think that was Secret Language of Birds, but I think Giddings was involved with Divinities
Anyway, Divinities is a great album with some Crest of a Knave undertones peeking through on In a Stone Circle

Right now?

“C’est La Vie (And now the Waltz)” by Slade

In the last five songs?

“This Could Be The Start of Something Big” by Steve and Eydie
“Turn the Beat Around” by Vicki Sue Robinson
“Sweet Black Angel” by The Rolling Stones
“The Chanukah Song” by Adam Sandler
“Fun in Space” by Roger Taylor

Midnight in a Perfect World - DJ Shadow

slowly gazes upthread at Miller

Eerie.

At this moment I’m loading stuff from CD’s to my Ipod (I moved into the 21st century finally!) and I’m listening to Drive by REM from Automatic for the People.

My obsessive rotation centers on Bowie’s Hunky Dory, Real Gone by Tom Waits, Music from Big Pink by The Band and The Essential Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show. New stuff: Edan’s Beauty and the Beat, No Home In This World by Brother Machine, and Say I Am You by The Weepies.

I’ve had Tori Amos’s cover of “Time” by Tom Waits stuck in my head for quite some time now and I like it there.

Well she said she’d stick around until the bandages came off
But these mama’s boys just don’t know when to quit
And Mathilda asks the sailors “Are those dreams or are those prayers?”
So close your eyes, son, and this won’t hurt a bit

Beautifully odd.

Gorgeous, isn’t it? One of my very favorite CDs.

I’m listening to Billie Holiday on YouTube.

At this very moment:

Acid Bath, “Venus Blue,” from Paegan Terrorism Tactics. One of my favorite songs of all time, in large part thanks to Dax Riggs’s gorgeous vocal delivery. Plus, the refrain is rather memorable…
