Anyone know where I can find the opening guitar riff from Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress by the Nollies?
I think that would make an awesome ringtone

Just changed the wife’s ringtone to Cannonball by the Breeders. We’ll see how that one works.
Sunken Waltz by Calexico
My alarm is Pompeii by ES Posthumous.
Linus and Lucy
I use several utterances by Timmy from South Park.
Default = Nobody’s Fool by Cinderella
Hubby = Gypsy Road by Cinderella (he’s a truck driver)
Mother = Poor Poor pitiful me
My main ringtone is “First Call”, better known as the call to post that is played when racehorses step on the track.
My text notification tone is Special Ed from “Crank Yankers” saying “Yay! I got mail! Yay!”
The Futurama and Buffy themes have also been recently used.
Shinedown–The Sound of Madness.
Um. It’s Der Kommisar. In my own defense, I only got a narrow choice because my phone is uber-cheap, so I picked the silliest 80s song. Someday when I upgrade, I’m going to have favorite Bollywood tunes!
Porn Star Dancing by My Darkest Days. Just changed it this morning. I’ve had Immigrant Song for the past year or so.
This is also mine.
I don’t know who the Nollies are, but the Hollies are available on iTunes.
If you have an iPhone or can otherwise import ringtones from iTunes, you can make your own out of any song.
I’m pretty sure this is legal; I trust somebody will say so if otherwise.
I’ve made my own. For family (for obvious reasons), it’s a short excerpt from the Ramayana, popularly referred to as the Balinese Monkey Chant.
For some of my friends, it’s a clip from Crsytal Method’s “Name of the Game,” where the dude says, “Listen, all you mothaf***as!”
Or a clip from the Fear Factory cover of Gary Numan’s “Cars.”
Mine is the Unsolved Mysteries opening theme.
So far only two people I work with have recognized it.
Default is the opening synthesizer riff from “Won’t Get Fooled Again” by the Who.
When my wife calls, it’s the opening riff from “All Along the Watchtower” by Hendrix.
when someone calls from work, it’s “Beast of Burden.”
I’m sure it’s legal, too, as I make my own. I don’t see how it could be otherwise, as long as you are using the track for your own private use.
Anyway, I have three:
My default one is “I Hear the Voices” by Hall & Oates.
I have “Who Can It Be Now?” as a second ringtone for when I get bored with the first one.
My brother gets “Rock and Roll Part 2” by Gary Glitter. No particular reason. I just like the tune.
Regular, default ringtone for telephone calls is an old-school ringing telephone I ripped from an episode of A Prairie Home Companion. Regular, default tone for SMS/MMS is a snipet from Monty Python and the Holy Grail: “Ffffffffffft! Message for you, Sir!”
I have others for specific people. My girlfriend’s phone ringtone is Donna Summer’s “Love to Love You, Baby” and SMS/MMS ringtone is a sonar ping (it’s a Hunt for Red October reference).
For calls from work, I hear that “worst ringtone ever” ringtone from the GEICO commercial. It used to be Admiral Adama saying “Some days, I really hate this frakkin’ job.”
You rang?
The Unofficial Addams Family Home Page
It has the doorbell, several assorted Lurch vocalizations (“Follow me”, “You rang?”, Lurch’s groan), and other assorted wave files from the show. Just right-click and save. Then you can import into iTunes and convert it to an AAC file if you want to use it for an iPhone.
