What songs make you swoon? Is there a particular song that your significant other can sing/play/dedicate to you that makes you want to kiss and make up? Or is there a song that just thrills you?
My song is “Every Little Thing She Does” by Police. All my BF has to do is sing “Every little thing she does is magic, everything she do just turns me on” to me and I forgive him. Thankfully, I don’t think he’s figured that out yet, other wise he’d be serenading me every day =)
My song is “Take my breath away” by Berlin. Actually, it has nothing to do with my wife, It is that one song that reminds me of someone from before. The funny thing is that I realize that she wasn’t that great a girl, but play that song and man, whoooosh, I go right back. Go figure.
It’s not actually connected to a woman for me (at least not a real one–and, no, I’m not going to explain that remark) and it has nothing to do with the movie as such, but the song “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion (from “Titanic”) gets me every time. Achingly beautiful.
Some Enchanted Evening. Yea, I know. I’m a softy.
However, the song LINE that gets me is from (old thread alert) You Can Call Me Al by Paul Simon: “She moved so easily, all I could think of was sunlight.” Ka-THUD.
‘Color My World’ by Chicago.
‘Lady’ by Kenny Rogers.
‘You are so Beautiful’ by ??.
‘Take my Breath Away’ by Berlin.
‘I will Always Love You’ by Dolly Parton.
::swoon::
Bittersweet memories…
Sigh I miss you…
Actually swimming, I believe the line “She moved so easily all I could think of is Sunlight” is from “I Know What I Know”. It’s off the same album as “You Can Call Me Al” which is called Graceland, but other then that there is no correlation. =) Nitpicky I know, but that’s who I am
Wow great choices Purplebear!!.. not necessarily swooning but a song that always makes my heart go pitter patter is Anne Murray’s Can I Have this Dance. I used to dance ye old waltz with my dad to that song. Just being daddy’s little girl and dancing with him to that was wonderful, it was kind of our special song.
One more thing I forgot to add in my last post. “You Are So Beautiful” is by Joe Cocker, of “With A Little Help From My Friends” fame in the 1970s
Pepperland, my love, you are correct. I humbly apologize.
My list would include just about all the ones mentioned, then on top of that we have:
Amazed - Clay Walker
Even If My Heart Would Break - Kenny G. and Aaron Neville
And of course the song that was written for me, The One She Will Adore.
Unchained Melody - Rightgeous Brother
Don’t Close Your Eyes - Keith Witley
I’ve always liked No One in The World(don’t know who its by).
I love it when my boyfriend pThe Power of Love on the piano.
“Since I Fell For You” –
“You-oo-oo-ooo made me leave my happy home…” No idea who the singer was, but he sounds like he’s going out the window in the next minute or two.
Also the Four Tops’ “Bernadette” – It has the most passionate, over-the-top vocal. I love it.

Billy Joel’s “It’s a Matter of Trust”
“Only Women Bleed” by Alice Cooper
Both are of a reflective nature.
“Constant Craving,” by k.d. lang.
Does this make me a lesbian?
I still enjoy the gentle rendition of nearly toxic levels of sentimentality in A Rose and a Baby Ruth:
We had a quarrel, A teenage quarrel
Now I’m as blue as I know how to be
I can’t call you on the phone
I can’t even see you at your home
So I’m sending you this present
Just to prove I was telling you the truth
Dear, I believe
You won’t laugh when you receive
This rose and a Baby Ruth
I could have sent you an orchid of some kind
But that’s all I had in my jeans at the time
But when we grow up
Someday I’ll show up
Just to prove I was telling the truth
I’ll kiss you too, and I’ll hand to you
This rose and a Baby Ruth

I find this song disturbing, actually. It sounds to me like the drunken rant of a possessive, paranoid psychotic boyfriend beating on his girlfriend’s door demanding to be let in while she no doubt is phoning the police.
Elton John’s “Your Song” That part where he sings “Anyway, the thing is, what I really mean, yours are the sweetest eyes, I’ve ever seen” Gets me everytime.
Neil Young’s “Only Love Can Break Your Heart”
Linda Ronstadt’s “Long, Long Time”.
I can’t think of any recent songs that make me feel like these do. Must be getting old!
It’s not really a romantic swoon, but a strong emotion: Frank Sinatra’s "It was a very good year. " It makes me think of a family member I really miss.

“Victoria” by the Kinks.
Sarah Vaughan’s version of “Lullaby of Birdland,” the one with Clifford Brown and Paul Quinchette and Herbie Mann backing her on trumpet, tenor, and flute.
“Volunteers of America” by The Jefferson Airplane.
I agree that Elton John’s “Your Song” is very moving. I remember every time I heard “I Guess That’s Why They Call it The Blues” I cried because at the time I was seperated from my BF, not voluntarily, and it made me think of him.
I forgot the song that really really gets me is the Original “Yesterday” by The Beatles. So much emotion, he sounds so sad.
