Everytime I hear those opening waterfall guitar notes, I shrivel up in a little ball and think about my first love, Andrew. Too bad he broke my heart
This kind of reminds me of an episode of Seinfeld where some guy (I think it was Elaine’s boyfriend at the time - not David Puddy, though) would just stop whatever he’s doing and stare in space whenever he heard “Desparado”. This always happened at inopportune times - like driving the car. Later in the episode someone made a joke about the song “Witchy Woman”. It sounded flippant and ludicrous but then in the great Seinfeld tradition, at the end of the episode in middle of some life threatening situation someone (a doctor?) quits whatever he’s doing and just starts to stare into space because “Witchy Woman” comes on the radio. Very funny stuff.
Now I will attempt to hijack this thread further - what about favorite makeout songs? I have my couple of “Desparado” type songs that will not be divulged out of sheer embarassment, but I will list a two good makeout songs that come to mind.
“Crash” and anything on U2’s “Achtung Baby”. Man, I have some heavy memories from high school and Achtung Baby.
Nowadays I’m just lazy and whenever the girlfriend comes over we throw the old DirecTV onto channel 818 and have nice music all night without ever having to get up and change CD’s, but now I just might put on the U2 the next time she comes over …
