Just wondering what storylines in TV shows would you have LIKED to have seen.
In otherwords if you were a writer for that show what storylines would you have written.
I am talking about storylines that were NEVER done on the show.
For instance perhaps you would have had Eddie’s father fall in love with Mrs Livingston (Courtship of Eddie’s Father). Or maybe you would’ve had the other 6 castaways beat the hell out of Gilligan (Gilligan’s Island) or maybe you’d have had Ralph actually give it to Alice “pow right in the kisser” instead of just threatening (The Honeymooners)
So what things would you have like to seen written. The only thing I’d like to restrict for the purpose of this thread is taking a way a negative. For instance stuff like “I wish Rachel would NOT have fallen in love with Ross.” Or “I wish Rhoda had never gotten married.”
For me
I would’ve had Sam marry Diane (Cheers). When Cindy Williams quit Laverne and Shirley I woud’ve had Big Rosie Greenbaum come to live with Laverne. She could’ve been dumped by her rich husband and forced to live with Laverne.
There are few enough of these types of stories in the history of Star Trek that I think it qualifies as something we really haven’t seen: what life is like outside of Star Fleet. How does commerce work? What sort of businesses are there? Cisco’s dad ran a restaurant. Picard’s brother ran a winery. There were a few others, but that’s about it. I’d like to have had a better idea of what life was like not in the idyllic world of Star Fleet.
On Buffy the Vampire Slayer I would have had Xander’s “Uncle Bruce” show up. He would turn out to be a badass demon hunter and would naturally be played by Bruce Campbell (who looks like he could be Nicholas Brendon’s uncle in real life).
On 24, I’d love it if we found out that in season three Jack only…
shot Nina in the leg instead of killing her because Nina is the awesomest character ever. Her “death” was offscreen (and never really mentioned by other characters), so this could work. She is the perfcet foil for Jack and in a show with so few living regulars, she almost needs to come back.
In “That 70’s show” I would have liked to see Red once, just once, actually put his foot up somebody’s ass.
I would have liked to see the war end in “Hogan’s Heroes” and the prisoners get another assignment (and of course, let Klink and Schultz know what had been going on).
I would have loved to see Richard strangle Hyacinth to end “Keeping up Appearances.”
He did tell her to shut up once – that was almost as good. I’d have liked to see the neighbor – the nervous lady Hyacinth always invited for coffee – bring her own beaker so she wouldn’t have to worry about abusing Hyacinth’s Royal Doulton.
Actually, an affair between Richard and the neighbor would have been pretty cool too.
And then it would be revealed the Klink and Schultz were actually double agents working for the Allies. “Good lord, Hogan, you don’t think we Germans are THAT stupid, do you?”
Yes, an affair between Richard and Emmett would have been delicious. They could’ve bonded over their mutual inability to swallow some of Hyacinth’s outrageousness, and… what? You didn’t mean Emmett. Oops.
On House, instead of killing Amber, I would’ve loved to have seen the relationship between her and Wilson proceed to a point where House would have been forced to accept it and stop throwing tantrums and acting like a petulant child about it. Then his relationship with Wilson would have had to evolve as well. And he might not be making the horrific mistake of occasionally kinda-sorta acting on his feelings, whatever the exactly are, for Cuddy.
On ER, as they wind things down, I’d really hoped for a happy ending for Ray and Neela when he came back with his Captain Dan Magic Legs. Alas, it doesn’t seem meant to be unless Ray is going to pop again once more before the season ends. I guess we’ll see.
You said “something”, and did not mention a “story line”. Maybe if you were more clear or presented your thoughts more precisely, then these misunderstandings wouldn’t happen.
