It’s an early translation. “Crusader government” is probably actually meant to be closer to “Supporting governemts of the war” in English.

I’m not trusting any of these death tolsl thus far. It will be at least another 10 or so hours before we start getting anything even close to reliable.

I’m just pissed off. And not at all happy with one of my collaborators here, who whilst I was worrying as to whether Bonzer was safe or not (he is), claimed that the British Government brought this on itself through supporting the US in the Iraq war… Grrrr…
Looks like our London office folk are okay. Didn’t this seem to hit toward the end of the rush hour (a bit before 9:00)? Maybe that’s a piece of good news, that more people had already arrived at work. Probably be a pisser getting home tonight, though.

I don’t see how that would be relevant. Today isn’t on the scale of 9/11. It’s essentially a domestic issue - it’ll probably be dealt with as with the Madrid attacks, and as with other terrorist attacks in Britain, by treating it as a criminal investigation.
What comes of invoking the treaty? I know very little about it.

After 9/11, the US invoked the NATO treaty’s mutual self-defense provision (Article V, I think). This provision obligates all member states to treat an attack on one as an attack on all – with the implication that everybody is to respond to the attacker with their full military might.
