God, I’ve all but given up on porn for its outright lack of themes, but in Perfect Fantasy World there would be a shitload of sexual tension… antagonism, maybe violence, but basically just an overall emotional or physical intensity to the relationship.
You’ll get that in any Jeff Stryker/Jamie Summers pairing, IMO, though that’s going back to the late '80s now.

I also like it when I stumble across “intellectual” (if that’s the right word) porn, though this is exceedingly rare. The best example I’ve seen of this was a scene I watched some time around 1992-93, that involved a young couple who were presented as high school students (though possibly college students, but still quite young), who were boyfriend & girlfriend. The setting was a library, and the couple was studying together at a secluded table. Their honest-to-goodness acting skills were impressive, as they very naturally set up the premise that they had never had sex with each other. The boy was eager to have sex with the girl, and the girl was willing, but first they went through a very complex dialogue discussing the pros and cons, the physical, romantic, and moral/ethical implications of their first time doing it. Unlike most pre-sex porn conversations, there was no fast-forwarding through this bit. These seemed to be actual trained actors, not ordinary porn “actors”. You could feel the sexual tension building and building as the conversation progressed.
Once these preliminaries were completed, they stripped down (right there in the library) and had sex on the table. Both actors were attractive, and completely natural-looking. The guy wasn’t hung like a horse, and the girl was slim and small-breasted, with tasteful makeup and hair. The sex itself was a convincing portrayal of a “first time”, and the duration was much more realistic than anything else I’ve ever seen (i.e. from disrobing to “money shot” was less than 15 minutes, and that’s even including the fellatio and cunnilingus that preceded the copulation). The mutual pleasure of the participants was apparent even without loud moaning and squealing.
All in all, one of the absolute best scenes I’ve ever watched in porn. Unfortunately, I saw the scene as part of one of those 2-hour compilation tapes, so I’ve got no idea what movie it originally came from.
I also remain convinced to this day that the actress was A.J. Langer, who would have been 18 in 1992. Though her TV career (as listed on IMDB) began in 1991, she wasn’t a regular character in anything until “My So-Called Life” in 1994. I happened to catch an episode of that show in 1994 or '95, and it hadn’t been that long since I’d watched that porn scene, so when I saw her character it was like, “Omigod, wasn’t she in that one porn scene?” I mean, her character on the TV show looked exactly like the girl in that scene. Face, figure, and hairstyle.

I’ve always wondered if it would be possible to make a mainstream (or at least not traditionally pornographic) film using real actors but have very realistically shot, hardcore sex scenes using a combination of the actual actors/actresses and perhaps close ups using a ‘stunt cock’ and ‘stunt cunt’ (sorry, had to be done just 'cos it rhymed!) to make it uber realistic. I quite like the idea of watching a film with a really convincing electricity between the two lead roles that, when they actually get down to it, results in some actual sex but not just about sex.
