Sorry forgot to add the themes I like are woman really getting off (squirting etc.) and woman in control - particularly an older woman in control of a young, virginal looking girl or even an older woman forcing(?!?) her husband to have sex with a younger girl.
I absolutely detest acting or scene setting in porn films - it’s a total waste of time. Fortunately I watch most of my porn online now so skipping ahead without having to use a fast forward is very easy.
In terms of sexual themes I’m a particular fan of bareback porn (no condoms, yeah I know there’s a moral debate on this but quite frankly I couldn’t give a fuck, it just looks better) and porn that centres around sports themes (especially football/soccer). Yum yum. Gay porn is of course free of the whole inequality issue that seems to hang over straight porn, it’s hard to claim one person is being exploited over another in it.
I think one of the problems of theme or plot driven porn is that so few people who do porn can act or possibly so few good actors can do sex. Granted Berry and Thorton were wonderful in Monsters’ Ball, but that really was the exception. I had a friend who went from the legitmate theater to porn briefly and came back saying, “They really can’t deliver a line. They really can’t.”
His contention was that if they could act, they wouldn’t have to take off their clothes. That may have been a huge generalization but having met a few porn actresses, (I have never met a porn actor) who attempted to get into professional theater, I was not impressed (well, with their ability to act, at least and that was what I was looking for at the time).
There are some good porn stories out there too, just look at some of the story sites so getting a good porn script wouldn’t be impossible (unless the strike has reached into the porn market too.).
Totally true. This is why when I tried to come up with scenarios for porn, I’d tend towards minimal or no dialogue ideas.
Themed porn scenes are OK as long as they don’t stretch things out to ridiculous lengths (pun intended). I get bored watching the same in & out action for 20 minutes, then the guy still has to finish things off with his hand :rolleyes:
I find watching amateur porn much more stimulating than the pros.
I’m with you on that. I recently watched a scene where the guy must have taken way too much Viagra. It was an anal scene, and 35 minutes along, this guy still didn’t seem to be anywhere near climax. I shut it off because I was so bored by that point (I don’t know how the girl in the scene took it for that long, unless they shot her butt full of Novocaine first).
Don’t ever work with Ava Devine, then. Among other things, she is famous for her constant stream of REALLY dirty talk.

Most guys in porn are good looking. Doesn’t have to be hung like a donkey, but a good looking guy with a hard body. I’m hetero; if I’m going to watch a naked guy have sex, he’s gotta be attractive. I"m ashamed on behalf of my gender just how unattractive 90% of men are.

The wishing away of barriers to sex. In porn, if two people are hot for each other they have sex. All the things that IRL are barriers to a sexual relationship are in porn merely the spice of forbidden fruit.
BTW: things I DON’T like in porn:
- Really fake vocalization. Most porn actresses sound like they’re having cramps.
- “Theme” porn films. No, I don’t want to watch a whole porn film that’s 7/8 some particular technique that doesn’t do anything special for me.
- The “Money Shot”: a guy is balling some hot gorgeous woman, and he pulls out to masturbate to a climax?!? Stupidly unreal.
May I say “reverse cowgirl,” “spooning”, and “piledriver”? God I’m getting sick of those positions. I may be misinterpreting your point, though.

Seriously, though … I watched an amusing scene once that featured Randy West in a non-sexual role. He played the part of a motel manager. A young couple showed up at his hotel on their honeymoon night, and discovered that they’d lost their credit cards or money, and had no way to pay for a room. So Randy made them a deal: he’d give them a room for free if he could watch them have sex. The couple agreed, and went at it.
