I get up at 8:00 PM on the days I work, and anywhere from 2:00 to 4:00 AM on days I don’t. Yes, I work graveyards. (For my main job, anyway…)
I set the alarm for 6 am and usually manage to get out of bed some time between then and 7am. What works best is to let the morning sun wake me, but this can cause problems in normal routine especially during the winter months. My body just doesn’t seem to understand that it sometimes has to wake before the sun is up too. Same goes for sleeping… when it’s dark at 5 pm I think it’s time to hit the rack. And don’t even let me start about going from day to night shifts two or three times a week! That tends to play havoc with the old circadian rhythms.
I’m so pathetic. I have to be up by 9, so I set the clock for 7:45 so I can hit the snooze bar several times. Otherwise I’d be toast.
8am on weekdays, 10am on weekends.
This week, I’m getting up at 2:30 a.m.–weird shift. Normally, though, 5:30 a.m. on weekdays; on weekends, roughly 7:30 or 8 or whenever my dog’s stare gets unbearable.
Either 0400 or 0500 weekdays. Unfortunately, my body likes to sleep until 0600 or 0630. Weekends I wake up around 0700.
Between 4 & 5 am. I love being up early! Unless I spend the night with my SO, then it’s usually 6 or 7am. Lately more like 3am though, I have a puppy. No matter how hard Cooper plays during the day, he thinks 3am is his time to get up & start dragging toys around the floor. I only sleep about 5 hours though, always have.
I fart around on the computer, do laundry & housecleaning, walk/run/bike the dogs, do a little writing, drink a five gallon bucket of coffee, get to work eventually. I’m the boss, so I get there when I tell myself to.
Good to see lots of early risers here. I’m up at 6:00 a.m., 7 days a week.
5:20 during the week.
Weekends, Soupo lets us sleep till 7:00.
Who would ever think sleeping till 7:00 would be a luxury?
5 am during the week…it’s the only hope I have of getting to the gym. On weekends around 7 am, depending on when the kids climb into bed and stick their cold feet into the small of my back.
I have to be up at 6:30 on weekdays to make sure the kids are ready for school. On the weekend, left to my own devices, I can easily sleep in until 10:30 or 11:00. Sadly, I’m rarely left to my own devices.
Of course, I’m almost always up until 1 am, sometimes 2. My body will not listen to me when I tell it I have to be up early, and I don’t do well on under 8-9 hours of sleep. By the end of the week, my brain is like a bowl of oatmeal, with a mouth.
Easy lives…
I love early mornings. Get up between 5-30 and 7 usually, though it’s be perfectly acceptable for me to get up at 8-30 or so and head off to work then.
Ha! Luxury!

shell: My husband and I own a Sunrise Alarm Clock by BioBrite (at http://www.biobrite.com/clocks.phtml --we have the Classic Clock). It’s fabulous. One-half hour before the time you set it for, it starts lighting up slowly, like a sunrise. If you don’t wake up by the time it’s finished, it beeps at you. I almost always wake up before that.
As for me, I wake up at 6:30 and go to the gym. Fortunately we have flextime at work, so I don’t have to be there until 10:00. On the weekends I sleep until about 8:00 or 8:30.

**On work days, my alarm goes off at 5AM, and I lie there listening to the first 10 minutes of Morning Edition before dragging my sorry carcass to the shower. Weekends, I still wake up early, but if I don’t hear the doggies fussing to get out, I roll over and doze till 7 or so… **
This is really, really scary FCM…
That’s an identical schedule to my own. Even to the dogs issue. Are we married? You wouldn’t happen to be Mrs Chance by any event? That isn’t your little baby in my sig there, is it?
I think I’m going to wander off and count myself now…
Well depending on where the job is located ,Time varies.I usually take 30 mins to get up shower get my tools together and out the door.6:30 is an average usually.Weekends i try to sleep till 8 or so.
school: odd times between 6:00 and 6:15; currently 6:09
no school, work: 8:45
no school, no work: 11:00
3pm on workdays, later on non-workdays. Try to at least be awake by 5pm so I don’t miss the daily pair of “Simpsons” episodes. After that, all bets are off. Work shift 6pm-6am. Three day weeks. Love it.
We just changed our schedule so that Lola is getting up with the boys on school days. This means that I have been able to sleep until nine or ten. I am usually the last one to go to bed, I should be getting to bed just as soon as my daughter the night owl falls asleep. If the baby wakes up in the night it’s my job to take care of her so Lola can get as much beauty sleep as she needs (which is very little).
Before there were kids or Lola I generally slept until noon but this was due to the fact I rarely got to sleep before three am.
If I am left to my own devices I will sleep almost nine hours to the minute before getting up. Like Lola, I am rarely left to my own devices these days as the kids usually have other plans.
Significantly early riser here.
Regardless the variations on ‘0 dark thirty’, the developement of the snooze button became my friend.
I will hit ‘snooze’ as many as 4 times for the pleasure of going back to sleep and continuing a dream, or starting another.
As an elder, I rather enjoy any interuption that allows me to return to the land of nod, with hopes of sweet memories of a moist dream.
