What to do with teemingmillions.com?

For a long time I kept a bunch of old “classic” posts archived there, and pictures of dopers… but now for a long time it’s been unused except for the free web hosting which is still up and running (go ahead, sign up for one!).

Anyway, I may have some free time coming up and I thought about the idea of bringing back the main teemingmillions.com website. I’m just not sure what for. I still have the old content buried away and could bring it back, like the Page O Flames and the Classic Posts… but I really don’t have any interest in trying to put up new stuff like that because I don’t participate on the boards at that level anymore.

I would definitely have links to all the SDMB related sites out there, like the photo gallery and such. Possibly links to the sister boards out there, if they wanted them.

What else can you think of that I could do with the site…that isn’t massively time intensive? (Oh, I can also set it up in such a way that other people have limited access to post things, so I guess if others wanted in on the project and had time for it that could be arranged.)

It was an excellent site but it needs somebody who’s active on this board in order to stay current. My recommendation would be for you to find somebody who’s willing to essentially do the work you used to do - somebody who will read the board on a regular basis and bring content over to your site.

A file/image host somehow integrated into the SDMB? (Upload to teemingmillions, link from the board)
Dopefest galleries and comments?
A SD chat room?

Somebody had to say it. :wink: Actually, I was kicking around the idea of a Doper dating network a while back… what about something like that?

It used to have a chat room, actually. Also had dopefest galleries, but without comments. I don’t think there is much need for image hosting with all the other free sites out there that everyone already uses. I could definitely add the galleries back, though, and the chat room.

You used to have certain users delegated to be keepers of the pages o’ flames (I was one of them). That would be awesome to have back, as the bon mots keep coming.

I’d love to see it revived and updated, but is anyone willing to commit to the time?
