What Type of Number Would You Want to Be

If you could be a number, what kind of number would you want to be? Some of the categories might be overlapping, for example a rational number could also be a real number. So choose carefully. [poll type=regular results=always chartType=bar]

ber, infinity is not a number

I’ll go with rational for a change of pace.

I once played on a softball team and we got to choose our own numbers (though of course, none could repeat one that was already used). My first choices were rejected—sqrt 2, pi, i. I finally ended up with the number 00. “That way, when I run on the field people will point and say ooooh!”

I wonder, though, what kind of number 00 is. Besides appearing on a roulette wheel, is there a need or use for 00 (instead of simply 0)?

Moderators: I think I did something wrong when I tried to create a poll. Can you delete this and let me start over? Is the poll feature working for anyone else looking at this post?

Something catchy that you can dance to.

I will pick even number without thinking. Even numbers have always given me the feeling of wholeness and being together. My car license plate, phone number, address details, and many other things I was able to decide on include (almost) only even numbers.

I want to be an inscrutable number, like fourch or twarve.

Poll seems to be broken. But you left out my choice: a Prime number.

Irrational number. Since they never end, Death can’t take me.

In “The Village” in a “The Prisoner” role playing game, I was Number 27. I’ll keep that one.

I have usually worn 13 when playing for my soccer team. I want to prove it is not an unlucky number.

I did manage to get pi for my softball number. Working for a company called Mathematical Applications Group Inc. at the time made it relatively easy. I had two shirts, still have one somewhere.

Two digit perfect square: 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81.

Probably prefer 36 or 49.

64 is a perfect two digit perfect square in my book.

Helvetica.

You need to start the poll on a separate line. You can see if the preview how it will look.

Prime

What do you mean exactly by “on a separate line”?

You had the poll starting on the same line as some text.

Poisson’s ratio, 'cause it’s dimensionless. Yes, I know my intentions may seem a bit fishy.
