Maybe Handy should have his own line in the FAQs, as one of our local legends. 
Note:
handy has 15209 posts, averaging 10.11 posts/day.
Q.E.D. has 2868 posts, averaging 26.62 posts/day.
At historical rates:
Q.E.D. will match handy in (15209-2868)/(26.62-10.11) = 747.5 days, or 2 years and 17.5 days.

well it looks as if Handy and QED are prolific posters, but I was wondering why you asked this.
I am rather new to the Dope (thanks everyone for the kind welcomes) but I lurked for a couple of weeks before getting into it and what I don’t understand is how important is the count of posts a member has? My new guy posts are treated the same way by the board, and also hope that they are read and considered as much as anyone elses by the members. So how would having 1000’s of post be better?
Assuming that not all posts are equal is it possible (or even nessessary) to have another method of ranking a members contributions without bogging down the system?
Or maybe the moderators consider this before banning someone?
can anyone clear it up for the new guy?

If anyone has taken the time, I’m curious as to who are next after Handy – I’m past 8,000 and I know there are a couple of posters who have broken 10,000. Has anyone taken the trouble to make a list of the Top Ten Posters?

See, Brendan, there’s this urban legend that the bigger your post count, the bigger your… um… member.
So, some folks think that posting a huge number of comments – even if they’re mostly irrelevant, illogical, and stupid – enhances their, ah, member-ship without Viagra.
Most of the rest of us think it’s the quality, not the quantity, that counts.
I think tracer is somewhere in the top five for most posts.
