What user has the most posts?

Oh, and I’m a Trek Doper, which adds up rather quickly.

Don’t forget about Our Winter of Missed Content when the boards were down for over a couple months (December 2001 to February 2002, IIRC). These counts would be even higher if it weren’t for OWoMC. And who’s to say it won’t happen again?

Hey, you are very welcome, lel. Guess I wasn’t quite as bored as you, though!

(I once had an insane number of ppd… now I’m not even sure if I have 4 ppd on average)

NoClueBoy, you once said I was amazing, and you didn’t know how I did it. Well, I don’t know how YOU do it… managing to surpass me in what? Less than half the time? Definitely Q.E.D. is up there too… and he has a few months on you even! Maybe it’s the amazing knowledge of Q.E.D. and the Trekkie-ness of NoClueBoy that’ll leave little ol’ me in the dust. But hey… I salute you both!

I should add that this post count thing is not a competition… not now, nor has it ever been… nor will it be in the future.

Anybody else remember Get your poster stats here by ** Bill H.**? I think this was justifiably the source of any frowning from TubaDiva.

I still think you’re amazing, Flammie.

But for different reasons now.

Looks like your ppd. average is sitting at the 7.4 mark or so, Flamsterette_X – but at least that’s under the level that can attract ire around here, as we’ve seen.

Oh, and congrats on hitting the 3000 mark!

Wow, first post and it’s a historical one!!

For the record, your post count is approximately one post per day, so far, autumnal hue.

Hey, thanks… care to enlighten me as to why? (just curious… I’m not one for excessive bragging)

Yup, I know what you’re talking about. And thanks… didn’t even really notice it myself.

Flamsterette_X, you’re one of one (so far) besides my Trek Dopers with which I choose to correspond outside the boards. You’re caring, gentle, inquisitive, easy to talk to, and you have a nice smile. (Hey, I’m a guy. Gotta include the physical, ya know?)

No, I’m not flirting ('cause I’m falling in love IRL*), I’m just being honest.

*my TreK Dopers know that story…

Oh my… well, ask and ye shall receive, aye?

Thanks, NoClueBoy… sometimes I think I’m too inquisitive, but eh… it’s all good.

What NCB said, Flamsborough. You do, indeed, rock.

‘grats on the three grand, an’ all.

I swear, you keep coming up with the oddest nicknames… any more of them, and it might put Spoz to shame. (or not… he is very amusing, after all)

But thanks.

Just to echo TLD’s well-put point there, Flamsterette_X – You rock, and you are a wonderfully cool person to know. A pleasure it is t’ be of your acquaintance.

Thanks, Ice Wolf. You’re wonderful to know, as well.

Is there a post-count discrimination, i mean, do people look at someone’s post-count, and seeing that it’s low, then disregard what they have to say? Doe having a high post-count lend more credibility to what you say?

I don’t think people pay attention to post count in and of itself, dlknox. More like posting history. For example, there’s a number of posters that, in my opinion, tend to have informative and/or interesting and/or well researched posts. Those people tend to have more credibility to me. Conversely, there’s a number of posters that tend to write factually wrong and/or poorly researched and/or inflammatory posts. Those people tend to have less credibility to me. Many people I’ve simply formed no opinion on.

Wanna trade?

As for post counts and history, it takes a surprisingly short time for a person to establish his or her personna. I’ve seen posters who, within a half-dozen posts in a single thread, managed to convince every person in the thread that they were logical, rational, sensible folks. And I’ve likewise seen posters who only took a single post to convince everyone that they were idiots. Now, there is some correlation between sensibility and post count, but that’s just because the loonies have a tendancy to get themselves banned fairly quickly. So if a person has 1000 posts, then it can be said at the very least that they’ve managed to make that many posts without being banned. But it’s awfully shaky trying to go the other way: Just because a person has few posts, that does not mean that they are going to be banned.

And yet, ironically enough, autumnal hue got banned on his/her first post on this very thread.

That would most likely indicate that, while it may have been a first post as autumnal hue, it was not that poster’s first post here.
