Album: Ted Nugent - Great Gonzo
Single: Cars - You Might Think
First single - some random Aerosmith track. Given as a gift from my sister when we were kids. 1991-2
First album - Ice Cube - The Predator. Blew my fragile little mind then, and still does to this day. The album was released shortly after the LA riots, so it would have been in '92.
No idea what the first single was, but the first LP I ever bought was The Doors. I still have that copy, too.
First single - “We Are the World”
First album - “1984” Van Halen
First CD - “Deadicated” Grateful Dead tribute album
LP - Sounds of Silence, Simon & Garfunkel
45 - “Hey Jude”/“Revolution,” the Beatles
Album: “She’s So Unusual” - Cyndi Lauper. I was 6. Got told not to sing “She Bop” in public.
Single: “I’ll Be There for You” - Bon Jovi. I had just learned about cassingles that day, and thought that was the best idea in the entire world.
My first single was Elvis Presley - “Tickle Me” and at the same time I got The Stones, “Get Off My Cloud” That was probably around 1961
My first album was The Supremes “Love Child”, from my very square grandmother in probably 1967.
First LP – “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”
Second LP – “Urban Spaceman” by the Bonzo Dog Band.
First single – “Sweet Pea” by Tommy Roe
Second single – “They’re coming to take me away, Ha ha!” by Napoleon XIV
LP - Meet The Beatles. I actually stole it when I was 13 years old. I ran out the door of the record shop in my Catholic school girl uniform, and stashed the album on the side of the building. Then I looked up and there was a cop directing traffic right in front of the store. Luckily he was too busy to notice. I still have it and every other Beatles album ever released.
45 - I don’t remember but I’m sure it was the Beatles, too. I was that age.
Appetite for Destruction by Guns N’ Roses
Jeremy by Pearl Jam
LP: Bridge over troubled water (Simon and Garfunkel)
Single: Albatross/Need your love so bad (Fleetwood Mac)
The first album was probably Walk Don’t Run, covered by The Ventures in 1960 (it was a Chet Atkins tune). I wasn’t really into singles and couldn’t tell you what the first one was. Probably Rock Around The Clock, by Bill Haley.
Wow!
First single (45 RPM): We Are The World by USA For Africa
Album (cassette, IIRC): Slippery When Wet by Bon Jovi
First LP gift: “Around the world with the Chipmonks”
Still have it.
First LP I bought: “Demento Royale” Got it signed TWICE by the Dr.
Anybody see a pattern here?
First Album purchased: Iron Butterfly - Inagaddadavida (sp?) (gift for older sister)
First album purchased for self: Johnny Cash - I Walk The Line
1968-ish.
First single: Ballad of the Green Berets - SSgt Barry Sadler
My dad travelled a lot when I was a kid and he would always bring back presents for me and my sister. My present was always the latest Jackson Five single and/or album. Damn, but I loved the Motown when I was 6.
My first “real” album was *Kiss: Alive *for Christmas when I was 10.
single - “Hotter Than Hell” by Kiss
Lp - “Welcome to My Nightmare” by Alice Cooper. (Besides the title track, the only song I remember from it was “Only Women Bleed.”)
First single: I can’t remember for sure, but it was probably “Music Box Dancer” by Frank Mills. Or “My Sharona”.
First album purchased: REO Speedwagon’s “Hi-Infidelity”.
