One program that I vividly remember from watching Saturday morning cartoons in the 80s or early 90s was an episode of an anthology series that involved a seemingly harmless elderly relative who turned out to be a rather malevolent robot or alien (I forgot exactly which). Anyway, I’ll post what I remember from the plot and conceal it in a spoiler:
An elderly woman approaches a suburban woman (working outdoors I think). She claims to be a relative and the woman doubts the veracity of her story, but Evil Relative uses her powers to convince the woman otherwise. Evil Relative worms her way into the family’s trust, but one of the sons isn’t convinced. Things come to a showdown and by now, the son and his friends know that Evil Relative isn’t human. While battling with her during the climax, the friends turn a water hose on her and wreck whatever internal mechanisms she has. All ends happily.
I could have sworn up and down that this was “CBS Storybreak”. Yet the online episode guides for that series (which may be incomplete/sketchy) don’t have any plot descriptions that match what I’m remembering. I also don’t think that this was an ABC “Weekend Special”. Did something like this actually air, or am I truly nuts? And what was the episode title?
