Back in the early to mid-nineties, there was a sketch comedy show on Comedy Central that I remember being very funny. It was not Exit 57 (I loved that one!), but it was on around the same time. It may or may not have had Steve Carrell as a cast member.
Does anyone know what I’m talking about?
…Ummmm… Are you sure it wasn’t Exit 57? If Carrell was on any of that 90s crop of Comedy Central shows, the one that was made up of Second City alumni would have been it.
Are you thinking “Vacant Lot” which was arguably much more funny. It was an even more twisted and weird off shoot of Kids in the Hall. (Mark McKinney’s little brother was a member)
It is one of my favorite sketch shows of all time. I had a tape of all the episodes but it has since been lost.
My friends and I won first place at our high school talent show by doing a sketch from that show. (The “Blinded by the Light” sketch)
That’s it!!! It was The Vacant Lot! I don’t know why I thought Steve Carrell was a member, but that’s it. Thanks. Unfortunately, neither The Vacant Lot or Exit 57 are available on dvd.
And you’ll drive yourself nuts trying to find copies of it. The Vacant Lot is tied up in legal issues that prevent it being released to DVD, which is a shame
It’s a head, Walter
Knee Slap!.
Exit 57 had Amy Sedaris, pre-Strangers With Candy. I don’t know why it’s not on DVD.
