He doesn’t, he goes for the vulva.
On Earth 1, he’s known for not paying his debts.
Because he’s not only cheap, he’s a degenerate.

You’re right; it doesn’t make sense. Donald Trump does things which don’t make sense. He’s well known for it, and even brags about it himself (on the grounds that it makes him “unpredictable”). And he’s far from the only human that does things that don’t make sense.
It doesn’t mean that it isn’t true.
I think his base like that he sexually assaults women and puts the uppity ones in their place. He behaves like they would if they had money: they’d put their name on everything, cover their homes in tacky furniture and grab any woman they want by the privates. He said he does it, his victims say he did it, what’s there to question? As to why he does it, sexual assault is about dominance and making the assaulter feel powerful.
Also, they don’t identify with that type of woman. It’s fast girls, models and actresses and women who have “put themselves out there” and “knew what they were getting into”.
The Trump-esque billionaire and former Prime Minister of Italy, Silvio Berlusconi, has had various issues relating to the use of prostitutes down the years. He’s always denied ever paying for sex with a woman, saying: “I never understood where the satisfaction is when you’re missing the pleasure of conquest.”
I think that with people like Trump and Berlusconi, it’s as much a power trip as it is about sex.
I’d never considered that Trump meant it figuratively when he said “grab them by the pussy” and, having considered it for a moment, I still think he’s absolutely speaking literally.
I wasn’t there.
When you heard it, wherever you heard it, did you laugh? Did you find it to be a funny joke?
Why do you keep asking this? It doesn’t matter if I found it funny or anyone else in the thread found it funny. Some people would find it funny; Billy Bush found it funny, and while it was certainly off color (as Trump admitted) it is hyperbole.
He used much of the exact same style of exaggeration when he said that he could shoot a guy in the middle of 5th Avenue and his poll numbers would not drop. We didn’t get Anderson Cooper with his condescending tone asking Trump if he really knew that he was talking about murdering someone.
There are many reasons to dislike Trump, but this is a real bad one, especially when in thread after thread we get people claiming that Trump “admitted” to sexual assault. He did no such thing anymore than he admitted murder.
Except that this isn’t a vacuum. Trump has bragged multiple times about violating the consent of women – this was only one instance. He’s also been credibly accused by multiple women of sexual assault. With all that in mind, it’s entirely reasonable to suppose that when Trump says he does something that constitutes sexual assault, he probably means it.
Why are you afraid to answer it in this public forum?
When were those other times he bragged about “violating the consent” of women? And, oh boy, here we go again with “credible” allegations.
Because it doesn’t matter whether I thought it was hilarious or if I was appalled by it or somewhere in between. I’m not sure how my taste in humor makes a difference on the question of whether Trump was being facetious or actually bragging about sexual assault.
But, I’ll play. I rolled my eyes at it, not because I was offended, but because Trump was doing the typical bigshot act trying to impress Billy Bush. I know guys that have to brag and tell lies and exaggerate in order to get attention. Sometimes you are in a position like Billy Bush was and you can’t tell the person to piss right off that you don’t want to hear it and/or are not impressed.
Just off the top of my head, he bragged publicly, more than once (IIRC), about barging into the dressing rooms of the women and girls in his beauty pageants while they were changing. This is the kind of thing he bragged about while knowingly being recorded. That kind of tells you what he thinks is acceptable in terms of the consent of women and girls.
Was he bragging, or was he telling a joke?
People don’t really shoot someone in broad daylight–and he said he “could” not that he “did”.
I wonder if this is the disconnect: do you think this is a true statement?
It is relatively common for women to get groped from behind in the very-low-ass/crotch area by either a stranger or a non-romantic partner. In this context, “relatively common” means it’s likely to happen a few times in a woman’s life, and only mildly remarkable when someone relates a story of it happening.
Trump supporters find it to be hilarious. Usually when I find myself among a large group of them often with their families I propose a toast; “To Donald J. Trump! May he grab your wives and daughters by the pussies!”
Then I wait to see if any of them try to tell me I’m being inappropriate.
“…trying to impress Billy Bush.”
This may be the first time in history that those words have been written in that particular order.
Was he telling us a totally inappropriate joke that he didn’t want us to believe was true, or was he bragging about a totally inappropriate action that he wanted us to believe was true?
Good grief, it obviously wasn’t a joke, and I’m disappointed that anybody’s pretended it was. What it was was a brag - a statement that he’s so famous that women will let him do anything to them. He concluded with a statement about a very extreme act that they let him get away with - he knows it’s a terrible thing to do that normal people wouldn’t accept, and that’s the point. He was bragging about his fame being so awesome he can get away with murder. (Figuratively, in this case.)
His intent was so obvious that I can’t believe anybody would pretend he intended anything different.
Now, the only real question is, was he lying? In theory it wouldn’t be surprising if he was, since he’s a worthless piece of shit without an honest bone in his body. However, based on other evidence, it appears that in this particular instance his brag was based in fact.
I’m appalled at the people in this thread who thinks that Trump wouldn’t do this because he can get sex based on his money or what have you.
Sexual assault is not about pleasure, it’s about forcing another person to be subject to your actions.
Sexual assault is not about what you can get someone to do, it’s about what you can force someone to do.
Sexual assault is not about getting your rocks off, it’s about hurting someone.
If you think it “doesn’t make sense”, well, this is a piss poor reason to think something didn’t happen. All humans do things that don’t make sense to others, and many do things that don’t even make sense to themselves. A good percentage of the latter will rationalize the hell out of their actions and think they had good reasons to do what they did after the fact instead of acknowledging that their actions were irresponsible, illogical, or possibly even criminal.
This is what I see Trump doing here. Subconsciously, he knew what he did was an asshole move, so he whitewashed it by claiming that the women accepted it because he has so much money. Just like most rapists claim that the victim “was asking for it”
I believe you all have it wrong.
Rich and/or powerful people get away with abusing those below their caste level ALL the time.
Because they are powerful, they can directly affect your income stream and therefore your welfare.
Object?
You are fired.
Don’t like it, so sue them.
Oh, wait–lawyers cost money and you don’t have any?
So sad, should have gone along.
THAT is what he was saying.
And he is right.
Tell me it is a reprehensible moral position to take, ok it is.
It is an observation of fact.
But if you have been paying attention, you will have noticed some of your sacred cows are guilty.
Louis?
Harvey?
Kevin?
Teddy?
JFK?
FDR?
Joe?
Bill?
LBJ?
So, what bothers all of you?
He was making an observation of fact, that was somewhat prescient given the #metoo events shortly thereafter.
