There’s nothing in what @Reply wrote last night with which I can find fault. Other than me having to describe myself as being white, not Asian, I could have written most of that post describing my own attitudes.
The purpose of this thread is to deal with “good poster seemingly pulls a stupid”. And afford a place for others to opine on both the “seeming” and the “stupid”. Or at least that’s how it works when it works well. This is not the place for animosity, grudges, or name-calling. Call it the Pit’s wading pool.
This time it seems the “joke” is on me. I’m the one who pulled the stupid by getting the “seeming” part of @Reply’s words all wrong. And I’ve been set straight in the best manner possible.
Thank you @Reply for your thoughtful and balanced response. In addition to learning that you’re even more of a class act than I previously thought, I’ve gotten a useful lesson about the risks of jumping to large conclusions based on half a sentence.
This fuck-up is all on me.
