It helps to be very explicit about what you’re doing.
In the leadup to trump’s first election I was sure he was going to win. Not that I favored that outcome.
I was careful to state explicitly that this was what I predicted, not what I desired. Folks still missed the distinction.
In a sufficiently partisan universe you must believe your desired outcome will occur. The alternative just does not compute for lotta folks.

There was nothing sudden about it. For some of us non-Americans, this has always been the face the USA shows outside its own borders.
And also, internally this has been coming since Appomattox, one way or another.
You say this like the two don’t go hand-in-hand.
