What were you THINKING?

And that’s part of the problem.

Yes; but is that my problem or your problem?

(That isn’t a factual question.)

Your problem, since it doesn’t conform with how the categories have been defined.

And that’s just not my opinion, I linked to the IMHO sticky that confirms it.

You might want to expand the category past what it currently is, but that would be an ATMB discussion.

It’s no ones “problem” or fault.
It’s the fault of the definition of the category.

I think all my questions are important () doesn’t mean they really are. I’d prefer discussion over the all time perfectly correct answer. But that’s just me.
The definition of what FQ is leaves a big window of “what the hell” is that.

So, post 2 in FQ is the answer. There’s no disputing it. We all know it to be correct. No 50 page wiki or obscure 19th century cite is necessary.
What’s supposed to happen then?
No one can talk about it? No one can reveal their experience or opinion?
The thread just goes away?

That seems counterintuitive to a discussion/message board, to me.

Adding, this is not the end all, be all, change-the-world think tank.
It’s an on-line chat space.
I’m sorry Cecil. But its not as important as we all wanna believe.

The biting the ass of what keeps this place going, ya’ know “people” and never ever welcoming newcomers is exactly what’s gonna kill the wonderful world of the Dope.

Chill out folks. If the rules are vague about FQ, change them. Simple.

I see newbies being warmly welcomed often.

And Crane’s back at it in the Hamas/Israel MPISMS thread, going out of his way to find the most loaded, anti-Semitic analogy possible to discuss the ongoing war crimes in Gaza.

When you baselessly compare your opponents to Nazis, that’s Godwinizing. What do you call it when you routinely drag Nazis into unrelated discussions in order to imply that the Nazis weren’t so bad after all?

When the people you’re comparing are both genociding, there’s fuckall ‘baseless’ about it.

It’s a poor comparison, but it’s hardly baseless.

The level of brutality the Israelis are inflicting on Gaza, though horrible, isn’t comparable to the brutality the Nazis inflicted on their occupied territories. They aren’t rounding up entire towns full of people and murdering them all at once.

You may argue that Israel has genocidal intent, and is just conducting its genocide at a slower pace due to the pressure of world opinion. But if we define “genocide” broadly enough to cover what Israel is doing (which we should, IMO), then there are many other genocides in recent history that Crane could have used as an analogy. If you think it’s plausible he might have picked that particular one for some reason other than being an anti-Semitic troll, I won’t argue the point.

There’s some ground between antisemitic trolling and merely using references that are of historic relevance to the Israeli population, I think - as oppised to Belgian Congo or Cambodia. There’s also an element of ‘you should know better’. Especially when Israeli defenders love to wave that particular bloodied shirt around themselves sometimes.

Oh, good grief.

Me and my shadow…:musical_notes: :musical_note:

(Not in the cute " oh you like me" way.
More stalkerish :face_with_diagonal_mouth:)

Sadly, the board can not only be your bad, bad, bad posts.

Wouldn’t that be a big ol’ bore?

if you know, you know
