I, also, read it that the plane would applaud getting back underway.
I think it’s also true that that spanking a kid on a plane would be taken very poorly by some passengers. But would a lot of people express appreciation if the plane went back to its scheduled departure? Yes.
I honestly don’t want to beat this to death, but in the post I linked no one said the plane got back underway. I said if they spanked the kid they’d probably have the parent removed & arrested for that, and Dorjan said he doubted it. So how did her post indicate the cheers & applause were due to the plane getting underway?
I was just expressing my low opinion of the thread. I’m not lobbying to have it closed. If and when you come across it, I’m fine with whatever you think best.
No! What I actually said was “I do want to be a citizen in good standing here.”
I get a lot of pushback because I don’t agree. I believe symbolic thought that arose in a rupture 4000 years ago has led us astray from reality itself.
I, too, have occasionally confused them, but their avatars are not at all similar. @Johanna 's is a photograph of a woman’s face (whether her own, or that of a celebrity she admires, I don’t know), featuring subdued earth tones, while @Jasmine 's is a painting of a woman, shown from the chest up, with bright colors.
Coincidentally, it was just around the same time that the pyramids were constructed with the aid of geysers that interpretive dance became an important means of communication!
I haven’t confused them. From one, I usually expect something interesting and intelligent, maybe even a play on words. From the other, it seems to be a sort of simmering hostility.
And there’s also a probable connection to her username, as Bob Dylan had a famous song titled “Visions Of Johanna” that allegedly was about Joan Baez. I’ve never confused Johanna and Jasmine, two totally different posters to me.
We perceive things differently. I don’t see colors well. To me they both look like women’s heads and kind of reddish. Side by side I would clearly be able to see the difference. Anyway, as I said, this is a me problem.
