What were you THINKING?

I just gave a broken link to Smapti’s initial post on the topic, as well.

That just means they can’t show a line item that says, “we charged you $50 for a radio you’ll never use”.

Intact? 'Cause if you break one up a bit it becomes very easy.

Yes !

And more fool I for asking him why it was stupid.

That escalated quickly. And like many things, my interest flagged long before the conversation ended.

Even if that were true, like… just don’t listen to those shows?? :person_shrugging:

His argument seems akin to saying “cable is bad because it includes FOX News.”

Well, yeah. The point which finally came to light is he sees that bill as the government effectively helping right-wing radio stations to continue to have an audience. It’s clear that he wants those shows and stations to cease to exist, and killing AM radio is a way to achieve that.

That seems unlikely. If people move from AM radio to some other media, the influencers will also move to other media.

To be clear, because of the truncated quote: I agree with you. I was paraphrasing my takeaway from Smapti’s posts.

A reminder, Smapti does have their own Pit thread.

Hint hint.

Bass Boat?

And already have. They’re still on AM, but they’re also on Sirius and FM and Youtube and X and Facebook and …

Was it this one?

No kidding.

I found what may be a legit entry for this thread. A poster who forgot to THINK. Or maybe is just an RW curmudgeon and complainin’ about PC libruls is just how they roll.

Not a clickable link, but easy to cut & paste.

Considering that it WAS a story about people who were black, and Muslim, why would the network execs have been offended? Anyway, TV biopics were already pretty much a thing of the past by the time that movie was made.

I think the poster’s point was that, in their opinion, the woke faction of the general public would be offended, and their complaints would offend the income of the show’s producers and distributors. So the craven suits caved to that fear and that’s why there’s no TV documentary about the DC snipers. See! Cancel culture is out of control!!!1!!

Or some such nonsense.

OK, credit where it’s due-- that’s a pretty solid joke.

Right in the catfish’s wheelhouse.

Catfish always grabs the bait.
