What will be Wednesday’s headline {Poll added to OP}

I went ahead an added a poll.

@What_Exit: Cool, thanks. I voted.

ETA: Did you mean for it to be an attributed poll or was that an oversight? I don’t know that I have an opinion on attributed vs anonymous, but I was a bit surprised at first glance to see it set to attributed.

ooooh, thank you so much!

Stuff like that in P&E, if you’re the OP flag your OP and request the poll be added.

Please include the poll questions though, once the poll is up, we can’t tweak it, just delete it and then put a new one up.

“Attributed” translates to “Public=True” in the board software. It was on purpose. This felt like one where people should stand by their selection come Wednesday. I voted first, so I’m public about it.

My choice is relying on a very large turn out by the 18-29 year old voters. I feel they’re the ones being very under-represented in polls and much more favorable to Harris or at least anti-Trump. I hope I’m right and I hope they get out and vote.

Thanks for the follow-up.

Agree that in this thread where folks are likely to post their thought processes, poll or no, it makes plenty of sense to choose the public option.

I suspect all the talk in other threads of secret polling, secret voting, and especially the recent bit about women needing to be told they can keep their ballot secret from their controlling SO sort of conditioned my initial subconscious surprise reaction.

I expect either “Too close to call”, or “Trump victory” between how close I expect it to be, the difficulty in getting an accurate count, and a Trump-leaning media. The accuracy of the headlines will be doubtful, however.

Great ad for this (30 seconds):

My fantasy headline is

KAMALA!

Historic victory for Harris

Florida man melts down in strip mall parking lot

Ok, it probably won’t be that straightforward, but a girl can dream.

“Trump files one-day record number of lawsuits”

Honestly, whether he wins or not, that’s what I’m expecting. He’ll challenge any county he lost in, and challenge any county he won, saying he should have won by even more.

I’m not religious, but I pray this is the case. Or as the saying goes, “…from your lips to God’s ears.”

…but there are still lawsuits and recounts. Though luckily there’s enough of a cushion that none of those would make a difference.

Oh, and 30% of Americans believe Trump when he claims that he won both the electoral college and the popular vote.

eta: And there’s a poll worker in Outagamie County, Wisconsin who’s keeping an undisclosed number of ballots hostage in her glove compartment.

His fanatics will believe anything; something which makes it irrelevant as far as they go whether Harris wins or loses or by how much since they’ll be paying attention to their fantasy world. Not the actual votes.

now that i am not scribbling a strike tally… i see the results here are very close to the smerconish survey.

I don’t recall Al Gore being declared the winner of the election in 2000.

There are two real possibilities. One is good for us and for the press: Harris wins.
Two: Headline reads “Trump and Harris still tied. Pennsylvania count will finish on Friday.”

A very devastating trump ekes out a victory.

Well, I was wrong. The victory was both decisive and overwhelming, including not just the E.C. but the popular vote as well.

Not who I wanted to win, but oh, well. The sky isn’t falling.
