Good morning, everyone (is too still morning)! If the money is truly unlimited, Mooooom, I’ll build that neighborhood we always talked about. Please get your housing preferences to me within 60 days of when Mooooom waves her magic wand. Otherwise, I’ll decide for you, so if you don’t want orange shag carpeting in the kitchen and a toilet loft accessible only by ladder, start thinking about what your ideal home looks like. For those who are perfectly content with their current abodes, exact replicas will be built.
I love all the other suggestions. OW, I’ll give you a chaperone for the chaperone to make sure they both make themselves scarce when appropriate, which apparently will be most of the time.
I must have missed something, so if anyone knows what became of Dot, would you please PM me?
More wrapping today, then a trek to the USPS. I’m going to try to strap the biiiiiiig box to the top of the babushka cart so I don’t have to ask anyone for a ride.
One of the lab tests from last week showed I’m quite low on vitamin D, a logical consequence of avoiding sun when it shows its face plus living where the skies are sure cloudy all daaaay. I’m supposed to take a high-dose supplement once a week. Those who take vitamin D, is that the way you do it? I’m confused, as usual.
One level. Open plan. With a view of a river. Fireplaces. Lots of cat nooks. Reuse of historical architectural materials. Lots of room for housemates and Mumper guests yet private retreat spaces also. Huge built-in library wall. Roomy dine-in kitchen. ADA accessible. Big, wide, deep, porch.
Oops, so excited by my new house I forgot to reply to first quote.
I take mine via an OTC calcium+D supplement, even though it was prescribed because I tested low after bone density scan. It turned out to be the cheapest way. I split the big honker tablet and take it twice a day for better absorption and tolerability on my touchy tummy. I have to do Vitamin A too. Seems like I’m deficient on a lot of things, but then we knew that. I buy the Calcium+D at Target because I like the graphic design (hello @Spoons)on their bottle and they sell a big (cheap per tablet) size. The Vitamin A I get at Whole Foods because they have a good uncomplicated version that oddly is quite inexpensive relative to other sources. I could do cod liver oil but ugh! Used to get that every morning as a kid, from my Maine born and bred bio Mom.
For everyone: One breeding pair of animals from the following list (your choice), along with ten hectares of fenced land in an appropriate climate zone, a care-and-feeding manual, and a lifetime supply of food for the original pair and first-generation descendents:
aardwolf
okapi
saiga
dik-dik
ratel
wisent
kinkajou
corsac
takin
numbat
kodkod
I’ll upgrade that to a private car.
That’s a world cruise, right? All four oceans, all seven continents…
still stuck in Xmas hell … insides almost done but there’s the outside …ill post a vid when we’re totally done …
The only thing id need is enough money to buy my aunt a house and pay off what I allegedly owe her so I could hit the bricks…
Still stuck in the middle of Christmas hell but its almost over… although one bit of obnoxiousness continues …aunt bought a dryer from sears about 15 or so years ago she has some of their infamous “protection agreements” … it went out again about 2 weeks ago and has to be totally rebuilt for about the 4th time well when I called to make sure that we were had all the parts for it I found out that one was on backorder and they might have to change the date and will call me with an update
If they call with a date change a WWE style brawl will be occurring because they should have replaced it years ago, Aunt thinks its because I complained to sears their last guy they sent out had the personality of a bag of moldy dicks,
Howdy Y’all! We have spiffed da cave, I retrieved my med (only one was due up), managed nappage, cook and et sup, kitchen all cleanded up, and the biiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can hauled all the way back up from the road to where it stays durin’ the week. Quite a day!
Lots of neat Mumper loot bequeaths (is that a word?)! We are a generous lot with our fantasy bucks.
I got all gifts for 5 people wrapped and boxed. I eventually found the adjustable bungee cords and got the biiiig box secured to the babushka cart. Now I just have to get it down 18 stairs and then a mile to the UPS store, where there’ll probably be a very long line, hopefully socially distanced.
Thanks for the replies on the vitamin D. Doc said high dose once a week for 12 weeks. I looked it up. For severe deficiency (me, I guess), that’s 20,00- 50,000 IU once a week for 6-8 weeks. She said “high dose” without quantifying and specified 12 weeks. Why is she so cryptic? And the mega-dose is usually by Rx. Another thing to ask the pharmacist, I guess, only I can’t get there today before dark if I’m schlepping to UPS, so it’ll have to wait until tomorrow.
One per customer, bud. Limited time offer. Some restrictions may apply. See your dealer for details.
LOVE that library, though. Why can’t it be a communal library accessible by tunnels from our respective houses? We could even have little trains we could run from each house so there’s plenty of room to take the family and haul home everyone’s books. And to heck with the balconies. I want rolling ladders. Or we could have something like cherry-pickers for those who need them.
Slow volume on the sort table today. Which is good, because at one point it was just me and the newbie on his first day there. It’s been rainy and cold today, and there was snow the next town down the Interstate. Perfect weather for a retail Christmas mood.
For Mumper gift giving, $100k gift card, and an on call charter plane so we can see each other in meatspace more often.
sorry about your co-worker, Boofae.
But shoe could help you out, if you want to give a rat’s ass.
Oooooo. Pub Night with Boofae, Nut, and live bees!
Evening all. No nappage but not much accomplished. Burger King screwed up my order (Whopper instead of Double and the fries were ice cold) so they are on The List.
Love the suggestions for Xmas if money wasn’t the object, but BBBoo, why stop at 10 on a jet? A Boeing Dreamliner business jet can take 40 folks (in a space for 300+) in great comfort across the Atlantic.
Herald, I could spend quiet a lot of time in that library…one of these days I’ll post my home library here, it’s not a big but it’s fairly impressive…and I’ll take that private car, I’ve seen some and they are…nice.
nellie, I like 1-story, open-space houses with a swimmin’ pool and very large rooms, with a huge whirlpool bath and lots of library space.
OK, need to set the dishwasher to dishwashing mode so it’'s done before bedtime. All y’all take care.
When the doctor started me on it, it was 10k IU every day. After a year or so it went down to 5k.
One’s enough – those were just suggestions for the architect. The library is mandatory, though. And I’m not using ladders on the balconies. I do wonder what those doorways lead to. Little reading rooms? More books?
nellie, I can’t make up my mind if I want a bungalow in an old urban neighborhood or a lake cottage.
If I’m the one passing out boucoup bucks, I would get a limo with a chauffeur for nellie, a rail car for metal mouse, a maid and gardener for Moooooom, the services of a lifeguard (preferably handsome) for swampy and OYKW, an Irish pub for doggio, some good Columbian for shoe, and $$$$$$$ in gift cards for everyone else.
Irked, got home before dark vaccuumed and et supper. Now to chill in the studio.
