Whatever happened to Roundhouse?

This used to be my favorite TV show on Nickelodeon when I was younger. I still get the song from the show stuck in my head sometimes:

Whenever my life gets me so down
I know I can go down
To where the music and the fun never ends
As long as the music keeps playin
You know what I’m sayin
I know that I can find a friend
Down at the Roundhouse

Ahhh… memories… But they don’t even play the reruns - ever! If anyone else enjoyed this show, please contribute to this thread!

That show was actually pretty good. The guy in the hover chair was cool.

Speaking of old Nick shows, what the hell ever happened to Salute Your Shorts? That was the best.

Yeah, I should have included “Salute Your Shorts.” And “Hey, Dude.” It’s a real shame…

Salute Your Shorts and Hey Dude were great. Anyone remember The Lost Cities fo Gold? It was a cartoon and was on Nick at around 6 am when I was real young. It was the only thing that could get me out of bed that early.

Eww, Roundhouse? Hey Dude- now that rocks!! And did anyone remember Pete and Pete?

I loved Pete and Pete. Network sitcoms should be as good as that little show.

And Space Cases. Does anyone remember that Harlan Ellison did the opening narraration for that?

Roundhouse was the greatest-no major props, just really good skits.

I also loved You Can’t Do That On Television.

Still, at least Nick still has Rugrats, so I can’t complain.

Roundhouse was really good for a live sketch comedy show. Why isn’t it in syndication?

Pete and Pete was my personal favorite. My brother and I mention episodes almost every day.

We weren’t allowed to watch Salute Your Shorts in my house, because they say “fart” in the opening song. My brother and I used to turn it on, and we’d cough loudly whenever the word “fart” came up.

We weren’t allowed to watch Roundhouse or You Can’t Do That on Television, but we tried anyway.

I love old school Nickelodeon…Double Dare, Guts, What Would You Do?, Are You Afraid of the Dark? (“SarDOH! No ‘Mister’, accent on the -DOH!”)…It was all great.

I used to watch this show also - it was cool. I used to run around my house pretending I was Arty (or was it Arnie?) The Strongest Man in the World from Pete and Pete.

Guess what’s in the burgurs!

I remember all those shows. I remember a time when Hey Dud was on every day after school. So was Salute you Shorts. I never Missed an episode. Speaking Of all those old shows, What happened to Clarissa Explains It All? Now that was a great show.

Anyone here remember Nick Arcade? That was one cool show. I used to get up early just so I could watch it.

Sorry, Hey Dude, Not Hey Dud. I missed that in my preview. I must be really tired. I am going to bed.

I used to really like “Welcome Freshman,” but then they changed it from a sketch(ish) show and made it a mildly amusing pseudo-junior-soap opera.

“This has been a Merv-U-Mentary…”

I met the host of Nick Arcade when he was hosting a a version of Wild and Crazy Kids at the MI state fair one year. My family got to be contestants onstage; my dad threw his back out during the “crazy dance contest” we had to do and he nearly had to be hospitalized (spent a week in bed as it was) but my little brother got slimed and won an H20 Power Blimp. Every time that thing floated past my dad’s window, we’d hear him screaming “Get that goddamned thing out of my sight! Ohhhh, my back!” It was a fun week.

I remember that lousy soap, Fifteen. All the kids sounded like they were reading right from a script. The guy who produced it, btw, was in an MST3K movie, The Touch of Satan.

I remember all those shows! They all rocked, except Fifteen. Whatever happened to that kind of entertainment? Kids shows nowadays suck monkey guts. Bad jokes, annoying actors, dumb premices. Even Rugrats is going down hill. At least Blue’s Clues is quality. So cute and funny, and that Steve is one sexy man. I heard he’s quitting! Is there no god?

I remember Fifteen, unfortunately. The absolute favorite retort on that show was a snotty, “What’s thot supposed to mean?”

(Yeah, they said “thot.” I guess they were from Canadia or something.)

I love reminiscing about these old shows.

I was a big fan of Clarissa back in the day. I remember it vaguely now. Wasn’t there the final episode, when she’s going off to college…but decides to take an internship? I loved her alligator Elvis. Hehe. And her computer…back then those little games she designed seemed so hot.

I seem to remember Welcome, Freshmen- from awhile ago.

Are You Afraid of the Dark?- I LOVED that when I was a kid. There were a couple that were genuinely scary, for kids anyway. Most of the time it was just fun.

And old-school Rugrats and Doug, those were great. Not like these new Rugrats.

I’m not sure if its still on,but does anyone remember Rocko’s Modern Life? I loved that show. It was funny and had lots of adult humour. I never missed an episode. They stopped making episodes a while ago,now they only show reruns.

Excellent show. It was about the Incan/Mayan/Some sort of native central/south American tribe kids, right? I used to watch that every day. Must have been about 85 or 86.
