They were plastic surgery poster girls in the 90’s so thin and so full of silicone you couldn’t look away. Their wiki page is here. Their story has some twists and turns but this is the most interesting (IMO) of all.
Oddly, in searching, other than their claim I can find absolutely no reference at all as to the existence of this “Miss Ohio - lesbian activist” mother of theirs.
The article does not say their mom was an activist, it says she was “active.” Hustler, when they ran their article, claimed that she was a “former Miss Ohio and Miss America runner-up,” which does not seem to be true; the Miss Ohio website does not list any Miss America runners-up before 1966. There was a semifinalist in 1954, but who knows who’s who? Anyway, she’s said somewhere to be a psychotherapist, and might live in San Diego, where the twins were born.
I don’t know what “animal extortion” means, but if they’re talking about dog breeding, then the “liberal side” would just be the market for purebred dogs among liberals, I think.
And I think the Wiki kists pretty accurately what “happened” to the twins, so… what was the point, again?
I just really liked this sentence from the wiki article:

I always thought they were kind of homely and trashy looking. They’re one of the few sex symbols I can think of that I couldn’t understand why people found them attractive. Other than their bulimia and animal rights stuff I haven’t heard anything about them in a long time.
I was always a little creeped out by their vaguely incestuous photographs.
You know after their 15mins came to an end they did a shoot in Hustler. Which basically is a step down from Playboy in case you didn’t know.
Anyway, I bought it, read the interview and could not believe some of the shit they were saying. I actually found myself thumbing back to the front of the interview to make sure this wasn’t some sort of parody.
One part I found particularly disturbing was how one sister would [tmi warning] stick a finger up her sisters vagina then taste it to monitor her sisters health. Apparently, her sis had some sort of eating disorder and this is how she would make sure she was eating right.
I’m sure they were probably making all that stuff up, but still.
