What's for breakfast?

I don’t have this a lot but I am going to have bacon and scrambled eggs, with parley and bazil and some fresh tomato.

Bran Chex with skim, a splash of half-and-half, and sugar. Num.

Poured milk on cornflakes, discovered milk wasn’t good, cornflakes and milk went down disposer. Breakfast = granola bar.

The usual - a bowl of Special K with 2%. I’ll lose these last 20 lbs. if it kills…somebody else.

Coffee, banana, and cup of instant sweet corn chowder, all brought by my friends to the hospital room in which I am staying.

Scrambled egg and bacon with a bit of Tapatio on a toasted croissant from the local bakery; fresh OJ; coffee.

I went to The Hungry Fox today and ordered a Vegan California Omelette.

And by Vegan California Omelette, I mean an omelette of eggs, with veggies (including avocado since it’s Californian), and a healthy serving of cheese.

With it came hash browns, and two heavily buttered pieces of wheat toast and a pumpkin spread/jelly.

I also washed it down with 2.5 cups of black coffee. No chocolate milk for me!

Cereal. Specifically Quaker Oatmeal Squares and Whole Foods brand organic 1% milk.

Piece of lo-fat cheese. Mucho coffee.

Usually it’s a handful of nuts or piece of string cheese with some fruit and loads of coffee. Today it was a toasted peanut butter sandwich (bread was cinnamon/raisin swirl) and some coffee. I got all wild and crazy.

Something I ‘never’ make: pancakes.

I’ll also make fried eggs, ‘medium-up’, and bacon.

During the week, it’s plain yogurt with mixed berries, walnuts, and honey. The frozen berries keep everything cold until I get to work - I’m not hungry when I leave the house at 7:45 a.m.

On the weekend it’s usually a bit more elaborate. Today we have some really strong coffee, and some toasted cranberry/walnut sourdough bread. This will likely be followed by the remains of the blueberry crisp I made last night.

The kid and I had to be in town most of the day yesterday, so we ended up having lunch at a steak house that we like. I ordered a ribeye steak and a baked sweet potato. This morning’s breakfast was the rest of that. Mmmmm. I love a good piece of beef in the morning!

Today it was chicken soup w/matzo balls. I love soup for breakfast.

Other things I enjoy for breakfast:
banana bread
oatmeal
wheat chex
leftover rice
toast with peanut butter
eggs benedict
BLT
chocolate cake
McD’s sausage egg and cheese biscuit with a side of hash browns
fettuccini alfredo
big bowl of melon and berries

Just about anything really–I can’t think of anything I wouldn’t eat for breakfast.

But soup is the best.

2 eggs over medium, 1 Arabian Pita bread, and a tall glass of milk.

A hardboiled egg (I made up a few this week) and 4 slices of Hickory Smoked Bacon. 4 cups of strong coffee with half and half. Working up an appetite for a late lunch out with friends at Gwennies which I will have King Crab!

Two eggs scrambled with diced onion, ham, Spanish chorizo sausage and salsa (blend of boiled tomatoes, serrano chilis, and a little salt). A little refried beans on the side, and two flour tortillas. And some coffee with milk. Actually a pretty quick breakfast to make, if you’ve already made the refried beans previously.

Yummy! Although I am annoyed that I have yet to have a decent flour tortilla from Trader Joe’s. I don’t know where that disconnect is coming from. The uncooked ones from Costco are pretty good.

Fruit salad (paw paw, rockmelon, watermelon, apricots, white peaches, cherries, mango, blueberries) yum; followed by Bircher muesli (yuk) and black coffee (YUM)

a bit of bagel with my butter and honey, or a bowl of cheerios on the weekends.
a quaker oats bar during the workweek.
