Pre-made chorizo and egg breakfast burrito in the car, and a cup of Aeropressed coffee when I get to work. That’s my inaugural back-to-work breakfast. For the last four weeks I’ve been home and eating leftovers for breakfast, because my wife hated my cooking and there was no other way to get rid of the leftovers.
A bowl of Lucky Charms in front of cartoons, just like back in kindergarten.
Well, okay, that’s on Saturday mornings (and today because I started vacation). The rest of the week is Mini-Wheats… Trader Joe’s brand, half plain and half Maple/Brown Sugar (to make them less boring, and so they taste like something besides the box).
I’m also lucky that there’s a greasy spoon down the street where I can get eggs and bacon and hash browns with onions and cheese for $6.
Never mind that. Where’d you find the cartoons?
This morning i had to take my car to the dealership so I had breakfast at a little cafe, western omelet and toast. Boy, that sucker was good. I gotta make more omelets.
Cheerios, a banana, and orange juice.
I want to try cornmeal pancakes for a change-up.
Barium, or whatever they use for a GI CT with contrast drink. Yum, I can’t wait.
I have a 15 cm mass in my large intestine, so surgery and possibly chemo is in my near future with less than 65 percent chance of survival if things look good tomorrow. Getting my legal and medical powers of attorney, living will and regular wills updated Thursday. Yippee.
That sucks aruvqan, best of luck with it!
Reheated lentil-onion stew is a surprisingly nice hearty breakfast. Tipped the marble-rye breadcrumbs/caraway seeds out of the otherwise empty bag into the pot, which adds depth to the flavor. Keep meaning to add potatoes and mushrooms but haven’t got around to it yet.
A delicious bowl of cinnamon Puffins, topped with bananas, blueberries, and raisins. A glass of pulp-free OJ to wash it down.

Thanks.
Sounds tasty, I made lentil soup last week with seitan instead of mushrooms and shredded cabbage instead of potato. I may try some beefsteak rye crumbs next time.
You…you take care of yourself and get well. (( aruvgan ))
Trying to…depending on the imaging from today Friday’s appointment will be making our plan of action. Reading leads me to think a round of chemo followed by an operation.
Man, the cornmeal pancakes were terrific. I think they’ve become the new norm in our house.
Already planning on home-made corned beef hash with eggs, OJ, and coffee this Sunday morning. It’s my favorite breakfast of the year, which I always make on one of the weekend mornings after St. Patrick’s Day.
Most weekdays, two poached eggs on buttered toast.
Weekends and days off from work: either Eggs Benedict with ham on a croissant and crispy hash browns, or two eggs over-easy with buttered toast and the aforementioned crispy hash browns.
Couple of miniature pork pies and breaded chicken bites rummaged out of the fridge when I got back from the school run.
The birthday party buffet leftovers will run out eventually, but for now…
Cabbage and chicken curry. Yum!
Yum indeed! Sounds like my kind of eye-opener.
Me too, but I have learned to my sorrow that my system will not permit cruciferous vegetables to be eaten at breakfast.
Bacon, hash browns cooked in the rendered fat, topped with over easy eggs.
