What's for dinner tonight?

I’m having steak, baked potato and my new favorite vegetable: Birds Eye Southwestern Corn.

Woah, sparky, that corn looks great. I think I’ll pick some up at the store later.

Tonight we’re going out with the family, so either upscale pan-asian or Italian. Depends what we’re all in the mood for.

Leftovers fried rice. Diced pork loin, mushrooms, onion, green beans with rice and egg. yawn

Eating out tonight for the wife’s birthday, so it’s dinner at our favorite semi-up-scale Italian place.

Roomie said she was going to cook something, but didn’t know what. So she had a couple of Trader Joe’s chicken-and-cheese tamales. I had the hard-boiled eggs I forgot to take to work today, and a couple thick slices of Havarti with some crackers.

Tonight I made chicken nuggets, breaded in panko and fried. Holy cow, so good. McDonald’s can suck it.

Weird dinner for me tonight.

I had a piece of smoked eel; a broccoli, cauliflower, and bell pepper salad; a piece of baguette with garlic spread, and another piece with eggplant caviar.

Well, dinner was quite ‘meh’ at our house last night! I had to go to the Laundromat (I’ll be so glad when the part comes to fix my washing machine!), and it’s practically right across the street from the pizza place. I knew my handyman was coming to do some repairs to my kitchen ceiling, and would be arriving soon after I got home. Hard to cook with plaster falling all around you because a big patch of your ceiling is being torn out! So I picked up a pizza and some disposable plates. It was a thin crust, extra cheese, pepperoni on the whole thing, and bacon on half.

The kitchen was so full of plaster on the floor (not to mention noise) that we ate in the living room, in front of the TV.

Tonight, I’m making beefaroni. The handyman and his partner will be back to do more work on the ceiling, but tonight’s work won’t involve falling plaster! I’ll just have to make sure to have the beefaroni done by the time they get here.

I think we’re finally getting around to the pork tacos tonight, since hubby ate all the fried rice last night. Chopped pork, green salsa, sour cream, and lots of fresh cilantro in warm corn tortillas. Yum. One of those mid-winter treats to remind you that some day, it’ll be summer again.

I think I’m going to do Chinese/Japanese tonight:

Miso soup,
Fried or grilled Pork & mushrooms in Hoi Sin sauce, rice and some kind of salad.

Mmm…stuffed chicken thighs. Stuffed with general Pepperidge farm stuffing. Got them from a grocery store I’ve never shopped at, I hope they’re good!

Brown rice for the SO, quinoa on the side for me. And mixed veggies or peas.

In my dreams, dinner tonight is a fish fry on a riverbank. I’m wearing a white eyelet sundress and eating fried catfish, hush puppies, coleslaw, and strawberry shortcake.

I am so done with winter.

If I even look at a stew in the next week, I’m liable to puke.

Waaaaaaaah winter.

Pork ribs in the oven at 200 degrees for about 5 hours with a homemade Kansas City rub

Tonight is hamburger, broccoli, and cheese casserole. I healthy it up with lean hamburger, low-sodium mushroom soup and lower-fat cheddar cheese instead of velveeta, but it’s major comfort food. Yum.

My dinner:

Whole wheat penne with pan fried Italian sausage (cut into chunks), sliced baby bella mushrooms, diced green bell peppers, onions and broccoli florets, tossed in some olive oil and a spoonful of pesto sauce. Covered with fresh ground black pepper and grated parmesan cheese at serving time. And red pepper flakes for me (but not the wife). To be consumed with chilled Chardonnay.

Why yes I’m looking forward to going home and making this!

Tonight’s dinner is Sweet Tomatoes, a salad bar restaurant, but they also have pasta, baked potatoes, bread, and soup. I loooove ST, and it’s within walking distance of my new place, so, bonus!

I think we’re having chili tonight. Roomie’s cooking.

I stopped at a new seafood restaurant. I had the crab cake dinner.

We haven’t decided yet, but yesterday was roast pork with gravy on lovely bread rolls.
