Johnathan Harker eats that at the inn on the way to Castle Dracula.
Cool.
Linguine with a creamy sauce of bacon and chicken. It came out awesome!
I’m going out to dinner tonight to a French restaurant, so it will depend on what’s on the menu. Whatever it is, I hope it’s très délicieux.
Coinkindink! I’m having jambalaya out of a box with andouille fired into it (also sauteed onion and pepper). And, uh, half a bottle of the red wine recommended by kurilla for the SDMB wine club. The jambalaya is pretty good, for coming out of a box. But maybe that’s the wine talkin’.
I quite like the Zatarain’s jambalaya in a box. I make it with shrimp and Morningstar Farms’ “Italian sausage style” veggie crumbles. It’s yummy and the carnivores here didn’t know it was veggie sausage 'til I told them.
Trader Joe’s Cheese Enchiladas.
Tonight we’ll be having baked lemon-pepper salmon, with wild rice and steamed broccoli with cheese sauce. It’s my favorite meal!
But last night was very good too - brown a pound of hamburger, stir-fry 1/2 head of shredded cabbage, half a sliced red bell pepper, half an onion, a little garlic, salt and pepper. Make a sauce with soy sauce, beef broth and thicken with corn starch. Serve over white rice.
Liver, with some fava beans and a nice chianti…
…maybe we’ll order a pizza or cook up some chicken. Depends.
I made a few pounds of homemade oriental chicken wings with a sweet and sour general tso’s style sauce in a crock pot after crisping up the skin under the broiler. I ate them over the last two nights with a side of maytag blue cheese (mmmm creamy) and lots of beer. I am on a diet that seems to be failing miserably so far. I wonder why.
Makes sense – Chicken Paprika is a Bulgarian recipe, and popular in the surrounding regions.
I like to make the real McCoy – I make the yogurt with cultured lactobacillus bulgaricus. Beware recipes made with pasteurized/gelatinous yogurts, or (even more incomprehensibly) sour cream.
I just finished the left-overs at lunch. It was lovely, 'natch.
Tonight my sister is coming over for dinner, so per her request we are having pot roast (with carrots and celery cooked along with), mashed potatoes, fried okra, dried cherry apple crumble with ice cream for dessert and sweet tea.
