What's for Dinner/

Leftover beef stroganoff. Yum.

Beef stew, I made it yesterday, haven’t tried it yet. I think stews and soups are so much better the next day. I don’t think this is going to be one of my best though :worried:. It’s a good day for it though, it’s damp and really looks like it wants to rain.

Porterhouse steak last night…Salisbury steak tonight.

We had rib-eye steaks the evening before this thread was started. Mrs. L.A. didn’t get around to refilling the propane tanks (she always steals the one out of the grill to use in her fireplace, even though she has two tanks for it), so I broiled them. The little market on the corner has the best steaks (they only have rib-eye), and these were very tender.

Just got a piece of pork out of the freezer, to pan-fry with potatoes, and probably brussels sprouts. I buy a nice boneless pork roast, and cut it into fryworthy slices, it’s much nicer than pre-cut pork chops, about the same price. Juicy and white.

Tonight is cacio e pepe with a side of garlic shrimp. Ground control to major nom.

Was going to have a sandwich…
Pulled a roll out of the freezer to thaw for a few hours and wrapped it in a plastic bag.

Just went to look at it and as I approached I think:
“Why does that sub roll have a big grey spot on it? That’s not a spot, that a MOUSE!”

2 shots from the pellet gun and the mouse is now an ex-mouse but now I have no dinner.
I really need to move out of this shit-hole building.

Spaghetti with meat sauce … but I’m on this regime where I had to use 100% whole wheat pasta and make the sauce from canned tomatoes. It didn’t taste quite like usual, but it was good enough.

I have Tasmanian salmon marinating in a sludge of Asian spices and coconut oil. I’ll pan fry that with some Asian green vegetables and shiratake noodles.

Turkey!!!

I roasted a huge turkey breast from the local turkey farm, so it’s like Thanksgiving in April.

Tonight it’s some ribs and noodles with whatever else I put together.

Shepherd’s pie. My husband ordered some in a restaurant a few weeks ago. I was shocked, because he “hates casseroles”. Turns out, when he says “casserole” he only means “things made with cream of mushroom soup”. :smack:

Pan-fried chicken hearts and potatoes, with steamed broccoli.

Last night, tempura shrimp. Mrs. L.A. made the dipping sauce. I told her what went in it, but not how much. It was good.

Tonight, more tempura shrimp. I made the dipping sauce. And we had ramen, and kimchi.

My 2 year old grandson will be joining me for pesto pasta and garlic bread with lemon sorbet for dessert. I get a kick out of him loving pesto sauce as much as I do.

What day of the week is it?

Monday? Leftover frozen pizza (not the kind you buy frozen in grocery stores, but take-out pizza that is later wrapped in foil and then put into the freezer).
Tuesday? Meatball Sub and Mac & Cheese
Wednesday? Usually a sandwich (some combination of Pastrami / Roast Beef / Corned Beef with Swiss or Cheddar on wheat bread) and homemade air-baked fries, but every now and then I get a burger and fries from a local burger place.
Thursday and Friday vary, although I usually make lasagna (“don’t you mean lasagna?” - no, as I use more than one noodle; “lasagna” is singular) or some casserole on Friday and have leftovers on Sunday. I also make “crepeless crepes” - cubed turkey, ham, and Swiss cheese, along with spinach and occasionally pineapple slices as well, heated up in a bowl (i.e. turkey ham and swiss crepes without the crepes).
I make it a point to get some fast food, or a pizza, on Saturday.
Sunday, if I didn’t have a casserole, I’ll usually make “chicken cordon blanc” - it’s like “cordon bleu,” but the way I make it, it’s only good enough for the white (third-place) ribbon.

Going out for sushi tonight!

Once in a blue moon I get an urge for homemade beer-battered fish and chips and nothing can deter me from making them. I’ve managed to put this episode off for a couple of months, but tonight is the night. I put the tartar sauce together this morning and a nice side salad as well.

Dinner is planned to be served early tonight.

A beer-food pairing featuring the beers of Epic Brewery.

I had a big lunch and have to make many Tollhouse cookies for the weekend, so Tollhouse cookies.
