Why, no, I’m not up for watching millions of Americans be subjected to the message “you ain’t really American” from the highest echelons. The best countermeasure I can think of is a constant stream (not the sort of steam he seems to be into; get your mind out of the gutter) of mockery and contempt, which will at least rot the foundations of the bully’s bully pulpit and at best make it easier for his political opponents to throw spanners into his works.
It sucks for him, but the needs of the many and all that. Again, if the kitchen heat proves too oppressive for him, there are no locks or guards on the exit door.
Millions and millions of immigrants, homosexuals, Muslims, disabled, blacks, etc wondering what’s going to happen to them and if their world is safe but we’re “torturing” a guy for comparing his event attendance totals.
I’m seeing estimates online that the turnout for the Women’s March on Washington is ~500,000 people. I’m not sure if that’s accurate, but it does look like a bigger crowd than for the inauguration.
If this makes Trump feel bad about himself, all the better.
I’m watching on C-SPAN and Madonna is performing right now. I’m not really a fan, but I think she qualifies as “A List” and is certainly a bigger star than anyone Trump got for his inauguration.
Since he wants to torture gay until they turn straight, torture people with illnesses to death by removing their health insurance, and torture women by forcing them to act as human incubators, I can’t seem to find an outpouring of sympathy for a guy who isn’t as well-liked as he wants to be. His ‘suffering’ only a tiny fraction of the suffering he deliberately has and plans to inflict on others.
Trump is going to come down hard on media that don’t toe the line. It’s going to be “interesting” to see what he does and whether the media can stand the heat he’s going to apply. He will stop at literally nothing to pressure the media to start reporting things as he wants them to be seen.

Spicer claimed of Trump’s inauguration, “this was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period, both in person and around the globe.” He did not provide any evidence.

I’d advise them to get a hotkey for that phrase “He did not provide any evidence”. They’re going to be needing that a lot. The style seems to be naked assertion without evidence.
Almost nobody on that list is much of a surprise, but…Snoop Dogg? Didn’t think he was much of a trumper.
I guess, judging by his constant appearances I’ve seen lately on commercials and talk shows, he’s willing to do anything and appear anywhere for a buck. Got his mind on his money and his money on his mind.
It’s going to be cold in DC so they’ve moved the inauguration inside (The Capitol Rotunda I believe?) and there are fence walls all over DC.
So no repeat of Henry Harrison. Even if Trump could spout 8,400+ words of verbal garbage he can do that indoors now.
No inflated counts and bad cut & paste jobs of the huggge crowds that are 10x bigger than any other president had and at least 2 or 3 times 2017 for sure.
Snoop Dogg, huh? It’s about time he got a jobby job. But Trump isn’t actually watching all this amazing talent in person is he? If he is, Snoop will gain back some of my respect if he lights up the biggest spleef ever smoked on any inauguration day.
Maybe the company that rents Jumbotron’s wanted cash up front (not gonna happen) and nobody would insure them against eggs, balloon paint bombs, rocks, etc.
Plus they’ll need the Jumbotron’s for wherever the overflow of dignitaries who didn’t make the rotunda cut will watch it from,
ETA: The venue The Capitals play in will be open for viewing. Hope they serve beer then.
