What's the difference in 4x4 and 4x2 drive to a citified driver like me?

I’ve driven the Liberty, and didn’t much like it. It still has a very truck-like ride, and I didn’t like the seating position or the interior layout. I thought it was going to be a tough choice between the Liberty and the Ford Escape, but after driving both I went straight back to Ford and bought the Escape. It’s a great vehicle.

But a Sebring isn’t going to haul your musical gear around…

It depends. I used to haul a 5 piece drumkit around in an old VW Beetle, and I’ve pressed various sedans into service as well. There’s always a way to make stuff fit. Also, with alot of sedans these days (sebring incl.) you can fold down a rear seat and run long stuff through the trunk into the cabin.

To me the Sebring, at $85 a month less than the 2wd Liberty and $140 a month less than the 4wd Liberty looks like your best bet. You’re always going to get stuck behind something you can’t see around and I doubt the number of parking spaces made available by a slightly smaller car will be worth the added expense.

I think that includes insurance and such, though, right?

Yeah, the $215 includes insurance, gas, roadside.

But the more I think about it myself (and the more the consensus grows here), the Sebring might win out. It’s a thousand dollar a year difference between the Sebring and 4x2 Jeep. That’s not scratch.
