What's the last song you heard and liked instantly?

No video except from a fan, but this is so catchy…Wilco’s "Heavy Metal Drummer:

The album it comes from Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is perhaps my favourite album from the last decade. I love Heavy Metal Drummer and it’s not even my favourite on the record.

Now I wonder if you might like Golden Smog too. Here is “Until You came Along”:

“So damn Beautiful” by Poloroid: Poloroid - So damn beautiful - YouTube

Lordy, what a fine song.

El Da Sensei- Crowd Pleasa

Dead Can Dance - How Fortunate The Man With None

WOW! Heard this on of all places a christian radio station, it reminds me of Johnny Cash’s covers.

Alabama Shakes “Hold On” I had never heard of this band until last week, now they seem to be everywhere

All out of podcasts, I was walking around town a few weeks back listening to one of my pandora stations. There were a few things that grabbed me that day, but probably the standout was Emma Wallace’s “Pet.”

Adel’s Rumor Has It… LOVED it upon first hearing.

A couple of the American Idol contestants sang this pretty well last night. Great song.

I didn’t realize they’d released anything in years.

Flo Rida and Sia
Wild Ones

Graffiti6

Elliot Smith

Recently, Mira, by Melody Gardot and Lucky Now, by Ryan Adams.

I discovered Emily Wells by browsing Daytrotter’s sessions. Both of these songs qualify:

Symphony #6: Fair the Well & the Requiem Mix

Take it Easy, San Fransisco

Songs I loved INSTANTLY and have listened to on repeat after first hearing them…

Most recently to least recently
Fun - We Are Young (probably over 100 plays on repeat)
One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful (can’t even begin to estimate how many plays)
Florence + the Machine - Shake It Out (Gotta be close to 100 plays)
Luke Bryant - I don’t want this night to end (dozens of times, singing at the top of my longs along with the chorus and blasting it in the car)

Enya: “Wild Child”

Village People: “Sex Over the Phone”

Human League: “Louise”

The Seekers: “On the Other Side”

Paul Gross: “Ride Forever”

The Bay isn’t bad, but I like “She Wants” much better.

My latest is “I Got It” by Stereo Crowd.
