I agree. I found it on Cracked where they were saying the same thing. The original is super-trendy and fun, but Shatner really gets the rage and frustration of the common people into his voice.
Ironic since Shatner isn’t a “common person” by any means!
That happens to me almost every time I go to a lacrosse game - there’s a song played that I really want to buy, but I don’t know the name. I need that song recognizing app.
I’ve had Florence + the Machine on my list of bands to look into after I saw them perform “Dog Days Are Over” on David Letterman.
Awesome These will now be on my song recs for December. I’m listening to the others too, slowly but surely.
Wait, what? Why would that song have gotten a lot of airplay this spring? The cd came out in May of 2009. It’s been about six years since I stopped listening to commerical radio, but I continue to look at their Best Of [Year] lists every year. I especially liked the list that contained Silversun Pickups’ “Well Thought Out Twinkles” two and a half years after the “add” date on my music player…Anyway have you heard “Rudie Fails” off the same White Rabbits cd yet?
“I Love You Ono” by Stereo Total, from an indy website where you could download mp3. I tormented people for months with this one. Warning, it’s weirdly addictive.
I actually came here to post “Pumped Up Kicks.” My iPhone’s Shazam was out within seconds the first time I heard it. Every time it plays on the radio when I’m driving it gets cranked up and sung along badly to.
(You ever hear the version where the words “gun” and “bullets” are blanked out? WTF??)
YouTube is blocked here at work but when I get home I’ll be checking out all the links. I need more running playlist tunes. Awesome idea for a thread, Elfkin477, thank you.
Man, I can’t believe how many people said “Pump Up the Kicks” by Foster the People. I hate that song. I’ve hated every one of their songs that I’ve heard so far.
Positively ancient by the time I heard it, but the most recent randomish hearing that I had to have was Brackish by Kittie (…don’t read the comments, if you want to retain some faith in humanity. sigh) - I generally prefer Kittie’s newer stuff, and find Spit (the album Brackish is on) to be disappointing on the whole, but Brackish rocks pretty hard.
