The Cave - Mumford and Sons
**Fancy Beer **- The Two Man Gentelman Band
The most recent that I can think of have already been mentioned (“Sail” and Pumped Up Kicks") so I’ll offer one strictly for your amusement and ridicule…
Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me”. That’s right, I said it. When it first came out however many years ago, it was playing when my clock radio went off and I sort of heard it through a sleepy haze. It stuck with me all day and I still enjoy it, now that it’s rarely played.
That would be “Kentucky Slop Song” from NRBQ’s first album… what a hoot! First heard it last week.
Just remembered another really catchy song from this year:
Run- The Knux w/ Kid Cudi
“High On Drugs” by the Fleshtones.
Imelda May, “Mayhem”
I love this song and the video so much. I could watch that guy dance all day
Metric
Gimme Sympathy
Because the Question is Always Who’d you rather be? The Beatles or the Rolling Stones?
My last instant hit was “Indestructible” by Disturbed. Sure, me and every video game fan on Earth, but damn, that song makes you want to go out and commit some serious video game mayhem!
Cee Lo Green’s ‘Forget You’. Never would have thought it’d be my cup of tea, but I love it. Loved it enough that I found another of his that just hit me as awesome right off… Love Gun Sounds like a James Bond song, lol!
“All Will Be Well” by The Gabe Dixon Band - they played it at the end of an episode of Parks & Recreation a few weeks ago, and i immediately fell in love. Had to figure out who it was with Shazam, downloaded the album from Amazon, and then heard “Five More Hours”, which I adored even more, surprisingly. Both songs brought tears to my eyes immediately, but in a good way.
I can’t say I ever was much of rockabilly fan but I like Imelda May.
Just heard “Everything is One Big Christmas Tree” by the Magnetic Fields on the way home from shopping, and thought of this thread. Don’t know why I haven’t heard it before.
Man! One of my favorites, too. I messaged my ex and asked if he remembered when he & I and my bro went into the “hootchy-cootchy” show—he did.
I believe Bruno Mars wrote it, but it is a great song.
Cee Lo Green wrote it in collaboration with others Mars and others.
Yeah that’s a great song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KkUeRPjc-Y
I had just downloaded a song off iTunes yesterday when I noticed that one of the songs that it recommended I might also like was “Some Jingle Jangle Morning” by Mary Lou Lord. I had vaguely heard of the artist before, but never made a point of investigating her, so I figured I would hit the preview button. It didn’t take me too long to decide what my next purchase would be. Truly a delightful little slice of punk-pop.
This one is from last year, but I really liked Coquet Coquette by Of Montreal right away.
