Nice zinger! 
I had some new neighbors move in across the way a few years ago. After I introduced myself and my family, there was an awkward pause, so I decided to tell a joke:
“If a husband and wife from Arkansas get a divorce and move to California, are they still considered to be brother and sister?”
Longer, more awkward pause ensues.
Finally the husband speaks up:
“Ahhmm from Arkansas.”
I’m reminded of one that my step dad committed on a fishing trip. My brother in law was with us, and it had just started to rain heavily. My BIL (who’s black) was sitting in the back seat. I had just remarked that it was “raining like a cow p*ssing on a flat rock.”
Not to be outdone, my step dad recalled a previous trip that he’d been on, where it was coming down "like pitchforks and (insert racial term here) babies.
Complete silence in vehicle.
Then my BIL pipes up from the back “so that’s pretty hard, right?”
