A brand new Ferrari supercar, don’t know models, at a turnout in Valley of Fire State Park, NV. I assume a rental from Vegas.
I saw not one but two, newer Mister Twos today, both parked & tops up.
Then tonight I saw something British, 60’s, two doors w/ a backseat & ample headroom, right-hand drive but couldn’t tell more as it was dark. Interestingly, it had Montana plates on it…on the East Coast.
That state park is beautiful, especially on bright sunny days.
I saw a fleet of Tesla Model 3’s go by on a carrier. They’re making their way East.
I spotted a first gen Mitsubishi Eclipse, a car I recall admiring when still available new.
It was oncoming and I didn’t get a great view but I did catch the word ‘turbo’ on it.
A really nice survivor in white. There can’t be too many of these left.
I’m in Vegas today, OMG the cars out there…
I bet. I was in Monte Carlo last summer, same thing, the cars out there.
Tonight in San Francisco I passed a parked late 1960s Austin American. A left-hand drive tiny car.
Not seen in person but of great personal interest to me - the 1966 Rolls-Royce I used to own popped up at a dealership in Scottsdale (no affiliation despite the dealership name):
It was my daily driver back in the day, so kinda annoying to see it’s only covered 8k miles since I sold it (wow!) 15 years ago.
I assume I saw the same orange Ferrari 488 on the Strip in Vegas that I saw at Valley of Fire a week ago. There was one other 488 on the Strip, as well as a Lamborghini that I couldn’t identify, a Bentley convertible, and a hot rod '32 Ford.
I pulled into the lot at work today, a forecasted warm, blue-sky sunny day (only the second of the year) & there’s a jacked Jeep Rubicon, winch on front & jack mounted on hood. It has no doors & the roof is peeled back over the front seats.
Late last night, I saw a Suzuki wagon that was in beautiful shape but very old-fashioned looking, with rounded corners on to a very rectangular vehicle. I can’t find any of their wagons online prior to 1996 and this looked much older. It didn’t have the 3rd brake that was mandated in 1986. Anybody here have knowledge of old Suzuki cars?
Today I saw some young man driving an early 60s MG or Triumph (couldn’t get a good enough angle to tell which). It looked very well cared for…and smoked a bit, as cars used to.
A 1960s VW van 4-door crew cab pickup. With right-hand drive!
Not today but last Thursday… Gold colored 1972 Ford Pinto parked outside of Inverness Hall at Innisbrook golf resort in Palm Harbor Florida. Really made me do a double take!
An Audi R8 on the drive to work this morning. It must be spring, the fun cars are coming out of the garages.
Also a Miata with the top down, temp was 46 degrees.
Yesterday, I saw a 2015 silver Buick Regal Premium II sports sedan parked right outside. Then I got in it and drove away.
It’s a one pay lease from back when I had money and I have to turn it in at the end of July, then I’m walking since I am jobless and on the dole.
Fun!
Someone nearby has a restored early 70’s AMC Rebel, can’t wait until he pulls it out again, Those cars are so badass and pretty damn rare to boot. It’s white with the blue hood, big fat red stripes down the side…it’s almost like driving the American flag, but not in a “derp derp I’m a wingnut Ted Nugent” sort of way.
I spotted a 1960s Corvair Ultra Van motorhome in Fremont today. Don’t think I’ve ever seen one before. Apparently there are about 100 of them still left on the road.
Too cool. I’d never heard of them before. How wonderfully 60s!
A Hyundai Equus, in a supermarket parking lot. It’s an unusual car, quite the odd ball. No idea who would buy one.
A Lamborghini Countach!
On the streets in town yesterday, on the San Francisco peninsula, in or near San Carlos, at about 1 PM. Its V-12 was singing, and it was a bright red car — loud and proud, she was. It drove right past me at 30 MPH, and it happened so fast I didn’t have time to snap a picture.
To my best recollection that was only the 2nd I’ve ever seen in the wild. Ever. The only other time was over 35 years ago — a black one in the early 1980s in Beverly Hills. I’m almost certain I’ve never ever seen another one in the wild.
What a blast from the past. A Lamborghini Countach. Pretty cool.
